  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

I'm going to be on WHEEL OF FORTUNE!

I've actually heard this a few times before that contestants usually say they were surprised by the weight of the wheel (could be why they don't give you the real wheel at audition.. throw you off)

The TOTAL weight of the wheel is around 1,000 pounds! I'm sure we'll get plenty of practice. I have to be there 3.5 hours before the crowd enters.

I officially booked the hotel and flight this morning. Obviously, I'm excited for the show, but I'm also excited for the weekend trip in LA!

All I know it's going to be sometime in early March.

Once again, thanks for all of the well wishes! :)

c'mon, forget all this advice about picking letters and the wheel weighs a ton

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO WEAR??

my advice would be to just be careful not to get your finger or hand stuck in the wheel when you spin it.

I've never seen or heard of it happening, but there's always a first!! #-o

haha seriously, i was gonna say the I, N, G thing for ''what are you doing'' but you knew that already. You passed the audition and made it on to the show.. just try to relax and you'll do great! :gogirl:

oh, hi Patman! (email WOF buddy)

When you introduce yourself, will you say "Hi, I'm Orton, a Sex God from JUB"?

Best of luck to you and let us know when the air date is!!!

Good luck, and GREAT that it's a "done deal!" I'm sure that people will be asking how you did, after you've done your taping. I'll cast the first vote for keeping the results a "secret" and just letting us see for ourselves.

A bummer...I tried to find the YouTube video of the bonus round [PLACE: 3 letters], from 1992, when the letters initially came up blank...and the contestant called out C D Z O.

How often does somebody call out a Z?

The solution was ZOO!!!

Hey there, fellas!

I got back from LA last night. It was an amazing trip. I had so much fun in the city with my family.

Obviously, I won't post what happened. However, I do have a video I recorded after the taping in my hotel room.

Congratulations! I'm happy for you! Wheel of Fortune has been my favorite game show for many years. I like to see if I can get the answer before the contestants.

I auditioned for W.O.F. years ago. It was all day Saturday and Sunday 2 weekends in a row. I wasn't selected, but got free tickets to go to a live show. Pat and Vanna were great!

Advice? Don't buy too many vowels. If you ask for a vowel that isn't in the puzzle, you lose your turn. It's better to keep getting consonants and adding to your score. I've observed that people disproportionally ask for letters C, M, & P, especially in the bonus round.

Keep us posted. I'd like to watch your show. Best of luck to you!

Thanks, man. Maybe, my next video will not have any clothes. I'm eager to see the episode!

I've heard that during the speed rounds, where you only guess one letter and then have a few seconds to guess what the puzzle might be; it's a good idea to reject picking popular letters if you're going first...

The popular logic being that if you guess popular letters you're likely helping the people who guess after you;

Congrats. I'll try to remember to watch. Just don't have one of these things happen to ya:

Wow, didn't realize the tapping all the way to broadcast was more than a month, hopefully I'll remember to watch on 22 March.

And you kinda look and sound like a friend of mine from HS. He came out as gay after finding out I was gay. He now lives and goes to school in Texas..... A&M university though haha.

Oh, that's cool. I'm a little interested now about that guy. Just to see if I look like him. lol

That is so cool! It's on my calendar to watch on March 22nd.
