I'm gonna be a Sailor

Congratulations from a student-deferred, never-in-the-service grateful that we do have men and women who will volunteer to defend our country. But before you go thinking I was a hippie draft dodger - I drew #352 in the draft. Some of you may recall how it was done. If you don't, look it up in your history book. XXX

You are scaring me...

I think I am Capable of Being careful enough, though I keep having bad dreams about me getting caught. I HATE those dreams. I am always Paranoid, though.

That's right. I sold my soul to Uncle sam for eight years. I'm now officially a Seaman.

Congratulations! As others have said, take every advantage you have with regards to your ongoing education. Best of luck to you!

May I ask what it is that you enjoy most about being a sailor?

I head for Boot on October 5th. Yay for Illinois!

My MOS is is Operations Specialist. But I tihnk I want to take the Seal Challenge now... I'm not sure yet.

Ahh, Great Lakes! I think you'll find the winters quite enjoyable. ;)

NAVY??? NAVY?????? AAAAAAAAAAAAH....go Air Force!!! lol..just kiddin! You've made a great choice to serve and I wish you the best!

You mean the Boy Scouts? That's all the Air Force is. No one wants to make decisions. The senior enlisted don't do crap and the officers aren't to be bothers. But that's a story for another day. =]

Congrats Charliose - I hope you last name isn't Staines.

Good Luck!, and if your ship is making for port in the South China Sea, give me a call. I'll show you where to go while your shipmates are in the girlie bars.

Congrats Charliose...you'll make great seman...oops...that's A Great Seaman!

And keep up that singing....you'll entertain the entire ship!

We'll just have to work on your repertoire.....you'll entertain all of them!

After you've been out to sea for four months straight (or longer)...

It's been my experience that, after four or more months at sea, there is very little that is completely straight on board a Navy warship! :sex:

After you've been out to sea for four months straight (or longer) you'd be surprised what a ship full of guys can get entertained by! :p

I definitely have to agree with these sentiments. :sex: *|*

Go Navy! I'm so glad I'm out of the Navy but I do miss some of my friends. Love the travelling part of it. I actually don't mind being in the Navy that's why I joined the Reserves. Good luck!

Man, I'm really confused because I've heard that there are no Gays in the US Navy and yet you're all talking about it........?

No wonder the social and economic fabric of our society is being torn assunder, you're all down in the locker rooms "doing it" with each other instead of defending us, the poor innocent poofter who's left to work in the offices and shuffle the papers.

I'm dobbing. I'm calling GeeDub. [-X

(So is it as hot and raunchy and sexy as various articles have portrayed? Spill, boys. Spill!)

Actually I have dated a guy and have a couple very good friends who are gay and in the military. I won't out any of them but needless to say they can be gay; they cannot hold hands if we are on a date; we cannot kiss in public; we have to act "straight" when we are out in the public eye because being seen would lead to dismissal.

But in private; don't ask, don't tell. I am sure from the conversations we have had that there are a number of gays in the military.

Why is there a Marine contingent aboard every Navy ship?

Becase a herd of sheep would be to obvious!
