Has anybody else recently joined or going in? I'm uncircumcised and wanted to know if that was a huge deal... I don't know what to expect when showering with other people, if ill get strange looks and what not... I know its silly to have to worry about it but i just want to know.

that will be the last thing on your mind when your in boot camp from what my partner says.

my understanding is you have 30+ guys sharing 3-5 shower heads and u have to be done in like 5 minutes

Congrats Turn! My suggestion is not to worry about being uncut.

Get your ass in the best shape of your life .... right now. Boot camp is a bitch.

Good Luck dude.

Boot Camp Showers are not like the locker room gym class showers from

High School. First, you and your mates will have other things on your mind

than the almighty penis. Second, it is not likely that yours will be the only

"HOODED DRAGON" in the room.

That is unless you are joining the Israeli Air Force. ;)

Yeah.... you won't have TIME to even think about that. Been there. Don't worry about it. You'll be a pickle while you are there. Hell, you'll be lucky if you even get an erection during boot camp. And you'll learn to eat fast, too. I wonder if they still make you kiss your locker....

I don't know where you are....
But if you are going to Lackland AFB, better get in shape now. It's HOT and humid out there. I have never in my life seen air condition units the size of buildings before. People were getting first degree burns through their BOOTS on the parade field. I don't miss that place. Summer is a nasty time to be there if you aren't used to it.

I remember when I left Lackland...... Guys in blue jeans were the most beautiful sight I ever saw.... LOL! Everyone is green and bald in bootcamp. "Pickles".

Congrats and good luck!

....... or al-Qaida ....or any other middle east military.

I know Jack, I only named the one for the sake of brevity

and the thought that it would get the message across.

Sorry if you think I (OH FUCK, YOU KNOW i'M GONNA SAY IT)

CUT off part of the message (groan)or 'shorted' the intent.(2Xgroan)

Oh boy.... you are going to love it there!!

Well, it IS bootcamp. But the Air force is pretty easy compared to the other 3.
I went in to get a career in electronics, myself. Met some cool guys, went bowling, etc. It was interesting. Food was ok...

But they'll keep you busy, don't worry. I doubt you'll have any time to think about your dick. You'll be too damn tired by lights out.

Just remember this: It's ALL psychological. They can't touch you. It's all mental BS.

Even then, one guy killed himself back when I was there. Some people cannot handle stress, and that's what you'll get a lot of.

LOL.... I remember my drill instructor told us we'd be so tense that you couldn't drive a pin up your ass with a jack hammer...

He was right!

But in the end, it's just mental stuff. Keep that in your mind at all times and you'll sail right through. ..| AND you'll know how to make a damn BED!!

Quick tip: In the mornings, don't try to lace up your boots. Just wrap the laces around real fast and tie them. You'll have time later when you go back to barracks. It's hustle, hustle, hustle. You learn little tricks.

Oh man... I just remembered... one of the guys I was bunked with was named Mark Begay. Pronounced Bejay. Poor guy....

Everyone ribbed him. "Hey Mark!" "Be Gay!"

Needless to say... I myself was so deep in the closet back then that I kept my mouth shut. Probably a good idea in 83.

Not sure how it is in the Air Force, but i've spoken to people in the Army and Marines who said that the few guys on base who were uncut were teased about it in the showers, and the medics actually offered to circumcise them.

I imagine that's more of an "on base" thing, and not so much of a "boot camp" thing; no one has time to tease each other during that.

I hate to quibble Audio,

But as an ex-Coastie, you snubbed them.

They were and are and will be a military service.

They also have one hell of a lot of peacetime missions.

Yes, they took the navy boys andthe seals up and down

the mehkong delta (as just one example)

Boot camp is/was almost as rigorous as the marine corps

and mentally the most challenging. Not my opinion check it

out. Sorry, don't want to ruin this thread with an interruption

but sometimes the foot comes out of my big mouth.

These days, a large number of enlisted guys are hispanic or black and they are more likely to be uncircumcised. You won't be the only one.

But honestly, you'll be lucky if you have time and are awake enough see each other's equipment. You have just a few minutes to soap up your pits and ass and run under the showerhead. You're more likely to see a lot of your comrades in the buff when you're out in the field where showers are rare and privacy is non-existent.

Well, didn't mean to snub them... I just feel they are not AS physical as the others.

The AF was considered the most technical branch, but that may have changed. Hey, it's been a long time. I mean no offense to ANY military branch. Service is service, and honorable. Period. ..|

Audio,

No offense taken...nor was any meant...90% of America has no idea of who,

what or even where this nations oldest service is.

Bored sometime...google it. and yes the air force is more technical but the

mental part isn't in the same ball park. The Coasties have the most stringent

qualifications for enlistment and have never lowered or eased them. Its an

interesting read...I'd love to hear from anybody with experience or who has

read up on the subject. btw, I only did 10 yrs.

When you joining? I was uncut. I was more worried about the size of my dick. Everyone is curious at one point and start looking and comparing sizes. I know cuase I look at their eyes and see them looking down in the showers.

don't worry about it. there are more and more guys that aren't cut all the time. If someone says something ask him why he's looking at your dick in the first place. I think you may be surprised at the number of guys that aren't snipped.

Good luck and thank you in advance for your service. I appreciate you keeping us safe.

Steven.

Audio Tech was right about getting in shape. You don't want to get there and get hurt because your body was not in shape. Start running, doing pull ups, sit ups, light weights, etc. You can't do this in 2 weeks, you need to start at least 3 months ahead of time. You can find descriptions on the web of the physical fitness tests you will have to pass. Start getting ready for them now. Stop worrying about your dick. I take it that you haven't showered with many guys before. If you had, you would know that no one comments on uncut dicks. I have showered with and been around many naked guys. The only comments I ever heard were when a guy was hung. The big dicks are the ones that attract attention. And good luck man. I spent 3 years in the Air Force as a reserve officer. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

The Air force has recently beefed up their basic training to be on par with the rest of military (including weapons training) because they are being deployed more and more into combat situations. I'm going in as Military Police into RAVEN, and then eventually to combat control (AF special forces, who, by the way, have harder physical qualifications that Navy SEALS, thank you, look it up) Military police right now with the air force are currently being used with the infantry in Iraq going and banging down doors.

So AF has its fair share of combat.

I have been going to the gym a lot lately too. Running 2 miles and then pull ups, pull ups, pull ups... I used to be in Civil Air Patrol and when i did that I went and did a week of what the AF Basic Training is, so I already have experience with the legendary hospital corners, white glove inspections, yada yada yada.

All in all i think I'm pretty well prepared. Minus the being self conscious about my cock! :D

Turn, hope you didn't take the remarks anyone made about the differences

in boot camps personally. Each branch has certain criteria that they specialize

in and the 'training' is geared for that. Why waste an engineer teaching him

dental stuff. Specialty services within the branches are hecka tough...none is

harder than another, they are different dependent on their mission. Not to be

sounding like some old fart father figure (I am both) your experience wil be as

valuable as you make it. You aren't some 17-18 yr old with no life reality to

go by so it will be a little harder at first being the dog but the whole trip can

be totally rewarding with good (and awful) memories and wheter you make

it a career or not, you may make "assshole" buddies (those are good) for life.

Best of luck and thanks man, you will be doing more than just a job and we

appreciate it. Apology for the long windedness)
