Hello everyone,

I'll try to describe my problem as accurately as I can.

One weekend I had a sex with my partner (about a month ago or something like that). Then on the next day I was feeling a constantly occuring pain during the wole day. The pain occured when I wanted to fart, so I can assume when the tissue was stretching (You know, just right then when a gas is ready to go- uhh :D)
It hurt just right behind the external sphincter at the left side. As days went by the pain was suppresing and I think about 3-4 days later it was gone. Then a week later it reappeared by itself. Again 3 days later it stopped to hurt - I hadn't had any sex since that weekend I mentioned at the beginning.
Then I only felt a discomfort while sitting. Sometimes slight itches.
Yesterday we decided that my partner will take a look, because I freaked out when I felt some kind of very small bumps while fingering. It felt like a dots of Braille's alphabet and it was located where I had felt the pain before - at the left side.
So, he said that those were small white dots positioned together and the tissue at this area is slightly harder then the rest. I have no idea what it is. I'm scared.
They don't hurt at all when I touch them or my partner does. It only hurts when we try to do anal in the positions when we can see each other. For instance, the doggy style doesn't hurt at all.. I don't get it. The pain during the anal is the same I had had when this problem appeared.

No chances that I have catched some kind of a virus, STD or something because I have sex contacts only with my partner for 3,5 years and suddenly this appeared..

At first I thought it might be an anal fissure, because the sex proceeding the first pain was kinda hard ^^ and we were drinking hard alcohol so we were out of control a little. But c'mon.. people do fisting or double penetration and they're fine.

I'm visiting a colorectal specialised doctor in the next week. Hope I'll get some answers. Maybe you can tell me something? :(

sounds like HPV/genital warts. it might be possible that you had them a long time ago but your body cleared them out without you noticing, and now they reappeared for some reason (kinda like herpes). but i am not sure if
that is possible after such a long time. BUT genital warts are painless from what i have read ..

Genital warts are painless though rectal warts between the first and second
rectal sphincters can hurt sometimes , especially if they are being rubbed
eg by a dick .
Think you have the right idea to get it checked out by the doctor , Good luck fella .

Could also simply be haemorrhoids. Definitely, consult a physician to be certain. If it is indeed an HPV infection, you should be treated ASAP before the warts get bigger.

Thank you for all responses so far :)

@Corny - I really doubt I could have catched any virus. My partner is 100% clear.
I'll ask by the way: Is there any possibility to do blood tests for HPV presence or is it confirmed only basing on symptoms such as those specific warts?

@medic1 - Can you tell me what exactly is the difference between them (i mean rectal and genital warts)? Are both of them caused by the HPV virus?
I know that sphincter hurts some times the day after having fun, but this is different sensation.

@hyperion - Are haemorrhoids white at the beginning/forming stage? Because those dots are at this place where haemorrhoids are growing. Just right behind the sphincter. These are very very small right now. I'd say 4-5 dots next to each other (approx. 0,5 mm dots or smaller) in one small area. It looks like they are slightly under the surface. They are not really exposed outside. As I said earlier - when you touch it, it's like reading a Braille's text.

Right now, while sitting I feel like I had a healing wound there with a crust (it's not exactly this, but that's my assosiation with this feeling)

I'll look forward for more of your answers :) and I promise I'll write here after the visit at the clinic.

Hey there certainbeing

Hope you and the other two guys mind but i can answer those questions you have asked .
1 Yes there is a test that you can have results 5-7 days .
2 both rectal and genital warts come from the same family as HPV the main
differrence being genital warts are visible to the naked eye .
3 Haemorrohoids are never white they are pinkish red to dark red depending on the amount of blood present plus the size of the haemorrohoids .
Also you would notice bleeding after you cleaned yourself after a bowel motion .

My apologies i meant to say hope the other two guys DONT mind . Take care.

I hate to ask that question, but is he also a 100% faithful? But first things first, let a doc check it out .. if it is HPV you can still wonder where it came from.

In the US, there's no HPV screening test for men. What test is this?

^ I heard that at some public health clinics here they take cotton swab through your urethra for this and kinda test it like a pap smear. My clinic doesn't do this however (they only test for HIV and Syphillis).

Morning Karabulut .
Corny is almost there you give a blood sample i dont know what tests they run
on it but if you would like me to ask one of our great lab techs 2morrow and send you a pm i am more than happy to do this .
They also do a swab of the urethra and like the pap smear this is examined under magnification to try and spot any abnormalities .
It is a very expensive test to do and a lot of gp,s dont like to order it as the bill comes from the drs practice budget .
Tommorow when back at work shall try and gather as much info as i can and pass it on to you . Take care .

Actually, it is a pap smear. But we usually only order it when to screen for HPV-dysplasia in the anus or rectum. Dyplasia is a pre-cancerous abnormal cell growth and it's the same thing that a cervical pap smear is looking for.

I started writing out a detailed explanation but I remembered that the CDC guidelines explained the protocol pretty well. It's here.

Is there a test for HPV in men?
Currently, there is no test to find HPV in men. The only approved HPV tests on the market are not useful for screening for HPV-related cancers or genital warts in men.
  • Some doctors use anal Pap tests to screen for anal cancer in men, however, there is no routine screening recommended for anal cancer. Anal cancer screening cannot be recommended until more research is done on how best to screen for anal cancer and if screening can reduce the risk of anal cancer.
  • There is no approved test to find genital warts for men or women. However, most of the time, you can see genital warts. Some doctors may use a vinegar solution to help find flat warts—but this test can sometimes wrongly identify normal skin as a wart. If you think you may have genital warts, you should see a health care provider.
  • There is no test for men to check one’s overall “HPV status.” But HPV usually goes away on its own, without causing health problems. So an HPV infection that is found today will most likely not be there a year or two from now. REMEMBER: HPV is very common. Most men with HPV will never develop health problems from it. Finding out if you have HPV is not as important as finding out if you have the diseases that it can cause.
  • Screening tests are not available for penile cancer.
  • You can check for any abnormalities on your penis, scrotum, or around the anus. See your doctor if you find warts, blisters, sores, ulcers, white patches, or other abnormal areas on your penis—even if they do not hurt.

No need for me to spend my lunch-hour trying to find out info for
you then ,
Please remember that here in britain we do not have as advanced a unit
as the American centre for disease control .
Though i believe that we can access it for information if needed .

Hello!

I went to the doctor today and he examined me - was nice
So I have haemorrhoids. Right now even on wikipedia site I can see this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Hemorrhoid.png.
The veins shown in this schematic (on the right side) are in this place where I have them and the shape of them forms those "dots".

I have to take some suppositories for a week and pills with diosmin for a month.
Also add a lot of fiber to my diet and eat more dairy products.

There is a chance that it will disappear, but what if it didn't?
What about anal sex? Some people on various sites say that good relaxation and a lot of lube solve the problem. Is it true?

And accidently I found out that my dad has haemorrhoids too, so here's the rub!

Cheers
