Yea you want to make sure that if you do it in public you dont want any kids around. Also some people who go to porn sites at cafe's dont realize that they're sitting in front of a reflective surface at some times and people in the place can see what your screen through a reflection behind you. Someone I know didn't know he was sitting in front of a framed picture that had glass cover and someone was looking at the refelction, he saw the reflection and ran out of there...lol.

really, i can feel some of your pain......I no longer have a laptop for travel.... (another issue: I can't make up my mind on a purchase)....and I use the hotel comp for email and a select few other things...

I know how to clear my trail from the pc...... but I limit my JUB visit to just the boards to avoid any obvious porn....but hey ... some of the avatars can be made from across the lobby!!!

I can't wait until I actually decide which portable to buy....AND to actually drop the $$$$....can you spell p*r*i*v*a*c*y ??!!

I know exactly how you feel! As soon as I log on, I go straight to the message boards and scroll down enough to lose the Jub header because I know my dad has a way of sneaking up on me. I mean I'm an adult back in his house looking after his health, but I don't want him to see what I'm doing! Just remember to clear your history and surf Jub safely. I have always wondered what would happen if I died what my sisters would do if they came across some of the sites I cruise. Then I realized that I would be dean and it wouldn't matter to me so much. I have informed my nephew who is the techie in the family that if anything happens to get my restore disk and immediately restore the computer to the factort settings, and then just update the video card I installed with the CD and then call it good.

This does come to mind that when my mother passed away I was in CT (I lived in Kansas at the time). Since there was family from all over staying with my two sisters my ex and I stayed in my mother's apartment (that was a very rough thing to do). It was agreed with my sister's that since I was staying there that I could start sorting through things since mom was the ultimate pack rat. Well, my ex came over to me one night and had this look on his face that was a combination of horror and amusement. He looked at me and in his most serious voice asked "What do you want to do with this photo?" When I looked at it it was a nude picture of my step-father. I was not shocked that my mother had something like that since she was kind of different for someone her age. I told him to put it into the shredder. As he was walking over to the shredder he looked at the picture again and said with his serious voice again "No wonder your mother was in mourning for the past 10 years!" Yeah, my step father was well endowed. We both started to laugh and wound up laughing ourselves into tears and to the point that my sides hurt. All of the stress of the past three days had finally caught up with us and that was the one statement that helped me get through the next two weeks of living in my dead mother's home as we were throwing away so much stuff.

I know what you mean. It's the banners that pop out of the screen. If they weren't there I would JUB anywhere. Then again, I'm sure they contribute and keep the site going...

And then people invented Firefox and the adblock addon and people blocked all flashing banners and all signatures and nasty avatars...

At work I blocked pretty much every pic that comes from the JUB server...

I totally understand you meheartdicks. However, in some public places like Starbucks, I just pick a nice corner where some wallks behind me or people are too far to look at my laptop screen... i didnt read all the post, so this is have prob been mention already, but u can get a thing to put over ur screen. it'll make it so only those directly in front of the screen can see what is display, anybody looking at it from a angle wont be able to see what is on the screen. also, sittin somewhere with ur back against the wall will help.

Yeah, the other thing is that while I would never go to JUB at work, I do check my e-mail from work. Everyone does it, so it's no like you have to be stealthy about it.

But then I "subscribed" to some topics (rather active ones) and every other e-mail subject is something like "New post from Just Us Boys Gay Community", and somehow that 'Gay' word just sticks out like a sore thumb at work!

I wish it would just say "JUB" and not "Gay". I mean, we all know, right? Or don't we?

I have always accessed JUB from work, and from home. I have also done it in public. I do not lurk at the pics but if one pops up and someone else sees it, it is their problem for looking. I would not do it in front of little kids though.

Meheartdicks, I know JUST what you mean. I get terrified at work that someone will walk in on my JUBbing. And once in a blue moon I've gone to JUB from a public computer and it felt weird. One time I visited JUB from the big new public library in downtown seattle, and there are just banks and banks and banks of computers and you're close to everyone else and there is no real way to hide what you're looking at.

It wouldnt feel so weird if I weren't a girl looking at it! What must people be thinking!

I've commented on this "top of screen" porn when the JUB site is opened.

I'm just glad that JUB doesn't use frames. I hate the sites where the ads sit at the top of the window, and you scroll the window below it so the ad never goes away.

Also, you can get rid of avatars, signatures, and graphics in posts by clicking on My Settings, then Edit Options, then scroll down to Thread Display Options and uncheck the checkboxes for avvies, siggies, and images.

I can't tell you how great the ad block feature is with firefox. You can block the banner add on the top of the page. I use it just to clean up the pages to make it easier to read. And Lube is right, you can remove all the pictures in your options. Also my favorite list is linked directly to the forum directory page and not the home page.

What you folks might want to do is get a USB flash drive and install portable firefox on it. then install the adblock extension into that copy of firefox and then start blocking the ads and banners and stuff you see here on jub. so that when you are in not so secure locatons you can feel a little more comfortable. also don't forget you can turn off sigys and avatars in your user control pannel.

i used it and now the ads here are gone. if you do the first 10 or so that corny recommends that gests most of the ads on jub. and then you can right click any image (sigys or avatars if you want) here that you want to block and "adblock image" and then it will be blocked also.

This seems easily remediied. You guys who design the various pages--put the naked guys and porn just one page lower. Then you will not embarrass the younger guys without home computers when they open the page. I will bet this could be done quite simply.
