Green Stamps and the stores where you could redeem them.
OMG, my Grandma collected them and stuffed them in her desk drawer after she returned from the market. When I visited her once or twice a year it was my job to lick all the damn things and stick them in the books. YUCK

S&H Green Stamps! Wow, that's a good one!

To go with another thread in Hot Topics: I remember when AIDS was called "GRID" : Gay Related Immuno Deficiency. :(

In Rochester, we also had Top Value Stamps (they were gold). You used to get them from Star Market. The redemption store that I remember was next to Star in the Stone Ridge Plaza... (note: the Star Market logo here is for the stores currently operating in Massachusetts-I couldn't find any of the logos from the Rochester division, but I will continue to look)

..................I remember cloth diapers you had to wash the crap outta them and re-use, no Pampers!!! ***I am an Uncle many times over!! (*8*)

I remember running in the sprinklers when I was really young because our housing tract was still really new, and none of the families could yet afford to put in swimming pools.
