I remember steam railroad locomotives from my childhood. They were very rare already, and I've only seen them a couple of times when I was visiting eastern Poland, where not all tracks were electrified, but I remember I found them COOL.

I remember when there was no internet at all, tv was black and white, phones were of old generation (the ones with numbers in cyrcle), no cellular phones, computers were very rare, children were quarelling later on what is better - Atari, Comodorre or Amiga (?), polish eagle was without a crown (communism), there were not regular plastic bags, there were huge queues, when (later on) McDonald was considered a very noble restaurant and it was a luxury to go there for a meal, when women were wearing real furs, when there were only fiats in Poland, etc
 
I also remember steam locomotives.

I lived in a "tank town" (pop. under 100) where they stopped for water.

Very impressive machines!
 
ISOIR when children of a family had the same last name as their apparent parents and there were mostly two parents at home, and only a few people divorced.
