It must be the butch season. I've got to reseal the window frames on a wooden summerhouse where the putty is crumbling. Then I have to paint it, and me and paint ain't friends. Luckily I found a YouTube video of a good looking bloke making it look easy peasy. Unfortunately you can't see his bum and he doesn't strip off (well, he strips off the old putty) but apart from that it's quite useful. His name is Michael Bronco.

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you resealing the outside of the frame or replacing the putty which holds the window panes in the frame? Resealing the outside of the frame is relatively simple, but reglazing the panes is another matter entirely, and it looks very easy in videos where people are showing you how to do it. It's not as easy as they make it out to be.

I'm going to replace the dried-up putty, nothing else. The frames are only about a quarter of an inch deep. All I've done so far is watch the video and my stomach is already in knots.

Go for it, put on that strap on belt thing and change that rubber!
^ Good video, and he's doing a good job of explaining it. The toughest part is the second step, 'cutting' the putty. That can turn out to be a real mess. Take your time and keep the putty pliable and keep your tools clean and you should be okay. I suggest, however, that you practice on a window you're not looking at every day.

In the top right corner of the six stills that come up after you watch the glazing video there is a better one lasting 36 mins. and it's even more frightening. Also I thought I'd take a look at the seal on my own fridge door and saw that it's peeled away and the door doesn't shut tightly. I've got my work cut out.
