iMac or powerful laptop?

what about if I would buy good laptop ONLY for making short films nothing else? :]

Sorry Im moaning like old lady but I read am not good with the computer technology...

As a point of refrence, I found this $450 Dell PC which is more than powerful enough for what you want to do.

The only customization I might suggest would be a larger battery, which isn't too expensive. If you want a built-in 1.3MB webcam, add another $25.

I would not go much cheaper, like a netbook, because they just don't have the power to really handle graphic intensive programs, and they lag on video like crazy.

I would get a desktop if I were you.

I have the imac 27" and I love it. The larger screen space and faster processor and graphics will be much better suited to video editing than a laptop.

Unless you need portability, you get more with a desktop for that application.
