Well, gee, by your sloppy approach here, I'd have to say that a number of JUBbers worship Opinterph.

Can I be high priest?

You're just trying to get me to violate the CofC, aren't you?

Well, not necessarily you.....

Minor point: learn to drive in the English language before trying to run native speakers off the road. Match subject and verb, pronoun and antecedent, and conjugate verbs correctly and then someone might bother to listen to your views on Webster's relevance.

Especially when there are 'professionals' on the road.

You should learn a second language Troll !!!

Muslims explicitly state that they do not worship Mohammed, and certainly no building or artifact. They further state that the Koran is never to be worshiped, only respected as the unadulterated Word of God.

They stated these things during the service I attended. It is the "party line," and your conflating of revere with worship would be deeply offense to any Muslim.

Print this image of Mohammed and take it with you on your next visit to your friendly Mosque. See what happens.

I did a short search. You don't support Christianity like you profess.

Muslims do worship Mohammed. They may not call him god -- but he's still their god.

You retreat in cowardice. Rather than substantiate your claim that Christianity was being bashed here, by me, you return to cowardly attack at the basic belief of Muslims. What earthly reason would I have to deliberately take a sacrilegious picture of Mohammed to a mosque? What does it benefit me to do so?

Should I also sneak lard into a jar of face cream to give to a Jew?

What is the point of sacrilege for the sake of sacrilege?

I challenged you first. After you. . . .

Caught between the shallow and the dim...

A religion that make people fear of being killed if you criticized or make fun of should not be respected.

My house mate is a Muslim. He only eat halal food.
He is a very nice person and I respect him but not his religion.
We get along very well :)

I'm sure there are a few who aren't terrorists. Simple fact is I still wouldn't trust any one of those guys because some are (but thats simply my view/feeling...its ingrained and not likely to change). I know others are gonna feel differently & thats fine with me.
You shouldn't trust ANYONE, with that reasoning. There are terrorists in just about every group on the planet -- just think of our white supremacists, for starters.

SOME of any group at all can't be trusted. So you'd better crawl into a hole and pull it in after you.
White supremacists are scary as hell too, but atleast they don't fly planes into buildings or want to blow buildings/cities/etc up...

Oh and crawl into a hole...no, but if I won the lotto and/or had some other way to it, I'd damn sure have a fortified house built as close to being indestructible as possible.

Funny. I remember, about ten years ago, having a similar discussion with someone else on a different forum. Except he was trying to argue that the vast majority of gay men are pedophiles. Like you, he chose to ignore all of the evidence to the contrary, and he stuck to his bigoted point of view because "that's what he believed."

Have fun living in your tiny little world.
bigoted.. maybe but simple fact is thats my belief/feeling. I'll never trust one of 'them'. Nothings gonna change my view.

As far as I know my own path leads into a blackhole of nothingness.
I don't believe we are destined for either futility or nihilism. We can always choose to follow a path to meaning and purpose.
I see it as something along the line of: your path goes in whatever pre-determined way was made for you. I personally don't see anything good ahead for myself

I respectfully submit that there are over 2.6 million of your neighbors in American who are Moslems. From the evidence, almost none of them are terrorists. They live alongside us peacefully as more of us, not blowing us up, not setting their wives on fire or executing them for speaking their minds, not attacking our government, not pronouncing fatwas on Western authors and critics of Islam. They are more of us from what evidence I can find.
Well thats a scary statistic.
I sure hope none of them are in my neighborhood (can say that have never seen one in this place)
I've seen them around the town where I work, but considering some of the stuff there its not surprising

With my posts in this thread I'm sure I've gained more enemies & maybe lost a couple 'friends'.
But it is what it is. I have my beliefs. Other people have theirs.

No matter what. I'm not gonna 'argue'(if thats even the right word) anymore.
I'm done posting here.

You will need to substantiate that, else start just flinging out "Nazi" or "Sissy" or whatever other baseless accusation suits you. Cite the examples or shut the fuck up. Your accusation was that I was against Christianity. If you read anything other than your own posts, you'd know the obvious: I've been a consistent apologist for faith, Christian and otherwise, since my beginning on JUB in 2006.

You are sane and articulate...Jack wouldn't understand or appreciate either of those attributes and he probably can't recognize what is apparently obvious to anyone who reads you. ....

Three things.

I'm glad that you will never be in a position to do any harm. If this were the 30's and Germany or Italy...I can see you being one of the jack-booted boys in a brown shirt smashing windows and figuring out how to rid society of the 'Others' that they globally assign blame for all ills on.

Secondly, I would strongly recommend some counselling for you in order to free yourself from the rabid paranoia and the dark hole that you currently inhabit. The basis of your radical islamophobia and, I suspect, underlying racism is not only based on a poor schooling and lack of travel.

But 72-jay...you have my attention now after being invisible for all those posts you've made. And as well our other one or two resident angry white guys...I'll look forward to keeping an eye on your posts from now on.

In a recent post you made derogatory remarks about the Salvation Army.

Please explain how you are so pro-Muslim and anti-Christian. I honestly don't see why a gay man would feel the way you do.

Deja, oh Deja.

You now have a battle between Jack and Telstra with unlikely pot shots from Andruske and 72-Jay.

I weep for your soul.

Point of contention from some of the ignorant hate spewed above: If 1.6 Billion Muslims were all psychos and wanting to kill; then the west would be a giant smoking hole. The fact is the problem is one hundredth a percent of the believers. Even then they are isolated into geographic and secular divisions. That is why the use of the internet and the idea of a global Al Quaida was so terrifying. Yet the more that one percent uses technology, the more we wrap them up or gun them down. Perhaps the real worry ought to be for those who wish to empower the 100th percent by removing our detection tools.

Good luck Deja and I sure hope you dont visit a catholic church next week. The systematic things done in the name of Christ is abhorrent and much more debilitating.

You are wrong. I am not anti-Christian. So don't say that I am. In your damp, dark little world I suppose that you really do believe that you must be one thing or another.

What I am opposed to is radical bronze age fundamentalism born of tribalism and destructive evangelism. In any religion.

I have a much broader and inclusive world than you do. I know this. I live and work with and travel among people from many, many backgrounds and religious beliefs. You do not. It is this broader exposure to the world that allows me the luxury of feeling sadness for those who have not had these experiences and disgust for those who turn their ignorance into a castle and refuse to read or listen or understand the world around them. A generation ago, Americans like you hated the commies in the Soviet, before that you hated the Japanese, the Irish, the Chinese and the Blacks. A lot of the Stormfronters in the US still hate the Jews and the blacks....and almost in every case it starts from conditioning as children and an incomplete education. It staggers me that so many Americans are so afraid of so many things and so proud and open about their intolerance.

As I said to 72-Jay. Thank God you are in no position to do actual harm. I enjoy watching the impotence of your fear and hate.

As you sit on top of your spotless mountain judging people . . . you don't know me. I was raised to respect everyone ... no matter what their religion or race. I was also taught to be honest and accept reality -- not live a world where I thought I was better than others -- which you plainly believe you are better. Your image of the world is that people you don't like cause all the problems when in reality everyone causes problems - some more than others.

I too have traveled the world, work with people of varying backgrounds and religions.

From your past posts, it's plain you hate Christians and Americans -- so don't lie and say you don't. You may have a longer education pedigree than me but that does not make you a better person ... just one that uses bigger words.

I was raised to respect everyone ... no matter what their religion or race.

So what happened? Seriously...it would be interesting to find out what went wrong...

From your past posts, it's plain you hate Christians and Americans -- so don't lie and say you don't. You may have a longer education pedigree than me but that does not make you a better person ... just one that uses bigger words.

AGAIN...you did the same thing with Deja...how can you even come to such a silly conclusion? Do you actually read either one of them?

This is such nonsense. The reading comprehension problem that you and a couple of the other hysterical right wingers have is that you confuse not agreeing with you as being the same thing as hating America and Christians.

My Christianity is not about the mindless, southern baptist sunday school version that has more to do with enforcing the Judaic old testament laws of illiterate goat-herders and bronze age warriors and priestly class exploitation of tribal communities than it does with the tenets and words of Christ. Show us these posts you say illustrate my hatred of Christianity. They don't exist.

Likewise the America I love is an America that the right wing doesn't acknowledge as being legitimate...even though it has been the foundation for just about everything that has made the US a great nation. I love america more than you Springer because I think I know it better than you and see more hope and opportunity for it than you do.

I am not better than you, but I do believe that I am infinitely better off than you because the world I inhabit is open to engaging in and trying to understand everything, to learning as much as possible, to never be afraid to understand the position of those in opposition to my own ideas and to seek out all the things that join us together as humans on a small planet instead of only looking for all the things that drive us apart.
