One of my favorite scenes: Due to a back injury, Mr. Humphries is unable to take his inside leg of a customer requesting a pair of trousers. He requests help from Miss Brahms, who doth protest:
Miss Brahms: It's not ladylike.
Mr. Humphries: Well, I do it!

My favorite Mrs. Slocombe scene: Mrs. Slocombe's telling Miss Brahms that her cat is expecting, as the rest of the staff overhear their conversation and assume Mrs. Slocombe is the one expecting.

Miss Brahms: Will you be having them at home?
Mrs. Slocombe: Either there, or the fitting room!, whereupon Captain Peacock does a spit-take with his coffee..

Also, in that same scene, Mrs. Slocombe to a curious Mr. Humphries: "I can find good homes for six. Any more than that will have to be drowned in a bucket."

2009 was an appalling year for celebrity deaths, with Jacko's demise taking top billing. We lost so many and so many so young RIP.

I truly wish I could afford the DVD collection.

I've got two DVDs in the set ... gradually getting the rest.

One of the few comedies I can laugh at and watch over and over again. Mrs Slocombe and Mr Humphries ("I'm freeeeee, Capt'n Peacock!!) were absolute gems!!
