Some vignettes, huh? I've actually had a few ideas along those lines - characters who might be fun but not worth any long looks. I'll try one to see if anybody likes it.

I got to thinking about a story line told by a straight woman - lots of gay involvement, of course. First I thought of it as a single chapter, but then things got rolling and there are ways to fit in some of our old friends.
Does that sound interesting or should I forget it? Wouldn't hurt to try, I guess ... and if nobody reads chapter two, I'll have my answer.

I know we are all enjoying Rory's "Speedway" right now, but I stumbled across this other work of his which is totally amazing as well. Not sure where this fits in all his others, but there are some characters in here that were in "Country Cousins". The story so far has been mainly about Refo who ends up on a farm in Virginia at some point in time with some of the characters in this story. But here is another fantastic writing of Rory as he explains Refo's 'coming out' to his dog, Wags. This blew me away like so many of Rory's special little additions he throws into his stories. If you haven't read this, it is great reading was wait for additional chapters of Speedway. You have to love it as we all love Rory and his writing.
I have to tell you I really had a close relationship with that dog. I told him everything and at some level I know he understood me. As a matter of fact I came out to him first. This is going to sound weird, but he caught me jacking off and he was shocked. I said to him, “I've seen you with a hard on. You lick yourself every chance you get. Why can't I have a little fun?” He didn't exactly say go ahead, but he did leave the room, giving me some privacy. And then when he came back in, I was forgiven. He looked at me expectantly with his tail doing a slow wag and I had to tell him. “I think I'm gay, Wags.” It was a hard to admit and his name caught in my throat. I almost cried. He jumped in my lap and licked me, with that same tongue he used to lick his dick. Isn't that intimate? It's like he was telling me it's ok to be gay. Charlie says all he wanted was food, that licking people is the dog's signal they want some food. But I think he understood. He never criticized.

This is a great story - but it's not Rory's first in the series.
Try finding Alameda - it is on the Left Coast, not South of the Mason-Dixon line, but one leads to another, to another, to another, and so on.

Yes, I read Alameda and all the series on the Left Coast and the East Coast stuff also. Not sure where this fits in the series, but it is just as great as all the others he has written. It's all the little nuances he puts in all his stores that blow me away. He has such a creative imagination. I am in awe. Like who could have ever thought of coming out to their dog and in the way he described it. The dog caught him masturbating and he knew the dog knew what he was doing. Unbelievable imagination. He's great. I am so enjoying this one as well as all the rest he has written.

Rory, another wonderful story. Again, a great cast of engaging characters and the full range of emotions.
I've said before how much I enjoy and admire your writing, and once again your talent was on display, in the masterful way you string words together. Perhaps what I like best is the way you write couples in love: Refo and Frank in this story, but they weren't the first and hopefully they won't be the last. I guess I'm an incurable romantic, and when you write a loving couple it warms my heart.

I came across this tale first and completely enjoyed it. I had to go back and read your older stories in order after finishing this. Now i wonder who will appear in your future writings. I shall soon find out, with much anticipation.
