Ink in Dryer

Okay. Doing laundry today, I was very much preoccupied with watching television. So, I threw a load of clothes into the washing machine with a pen in one of my work pockets. Didn't notice. Then, I threw the clothes into the dryer on high and the pen exploded all over the drier. ALL OVER!

No, my Abercrombie & Fitch $125 jeans now come with complimentary spots. Any suggestions? Serious ones, at that?

Isn't the point of A&F jeans to look like they've been lived in? I think the ink will add character. As to the rest of your clothes, dying them black is probably your only viable option. You might try some spot-remover or Spray-n-Wash if you want (or alcohol-based hairspray, interesting tip), but once ink has been baked on in the dryer, it's pretty much permanent. Now, if you'd caught it when it was still wet, you might have had a chance... but heat-drying sealed your doom.

Regarding the ink on the inside of your dryer, you might be able to scrape it off with a razor-blade, but it's probably there forever, too... but then, it won't come off the sides anymore, it's set, so it's not going to stain any future clothes.

I wasn't kidding. Donate them to Goodwill and you'll have a tax write-off. Itemize your taxes, and your refund check will buy you a new pair of jeans.

Haha you guys are great. A bucket of acetone took the stains right off the dryer like it was its job... and when you thing about it, it is.

Anyway, stains are gone inside the dryer - can't say the same about my jeans. But hey, in the scheme of things, there are so many WORSE things that can happen... life's too short.

Even my Asian dry cleaners, who I think wield the hand of G-d when it comes to stain removal, could not get that out.

But keep the jeans. It may become a new trend.

One word. Oxyclean.

Every drop of ink ran out of the clothes after sitting in the bathtub with a tub of oxyclean.

If you think im lying, try it. I'm not.

/\ i was going to say i think since ink is fairly organic based, some of the "oxy" cleaners out ther would get it out. Glad it worked and sorry i wasn't faster on the draw on that.
