seriously, though, for my tastes - there IS such a thing as too MUCH intellect. Or maybe it's the QUALITY of intellect.

As one poster suggested, guys that have a witty snappy answer for everything are often trying to cover some pretty deep insecurities.

Then there are the hypnotists and the neuro-linguistic programmers, the PhDs in clinical therapy... they always leave me rushing off to the men's room to do some discreet self-phrenology just to be sure all my bumps are still in place. Sure, they're smart, but I don't enjoy that kind of "psychically nude" feeling.

Then there are the critics, run-of-the-mill english majors. Guys that, instead of grabbing a plunger whenever their anal-retentiveness finally short-circuits and they drop a fecal bomb big enough to stop the commode, call the plumber and foot a $250 bill. They're happily disecting Proust when AAA comes to help them change a flat tire.

Give me some good ol' common sense any day of the week. and head.

Why do people say this?

There are many good looking 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 year olds out there. You don't have to be young to be good looking. And by good looking, I mean carrying your age well, not trying to mask it.

I think I'm guilty of this; but then again, it is ONLY lust, and nothing more. I think it's okay as long as people don't base relationships off of good looks. Everyone is, of course, attracted to their idea of "hotness," but everyone should be able to look beyond the facade.
