So I read this article today and while, obviously, it's still too early to tell...it's interesting.

Now, personally, I can't see lubing my ass with this gel every day but then again I'm in a relationship and not being single could possibly skew my view of what you have to do.

An oral dose of tenofovir was not shown to provide protection from HIV.

It appears the protection may come from the gel providing a barrier rather than the medication itself. In any event, I would rather just use a condom than lube my ass everyday.

Not to mention that a condom is much cheaper than an anti-retroviral. And certainly less toxic.

add to that that even when both partners are healthy and the bottom guy is squeaky clean/douched .. you can still get some bacteria in your urethra and have "fun" with an infection.
