Internet Explorer and blocking porn

Ok I realize this is oxy moronic coming to a porn forum for help on this but here goes, I am looking to block all porn sites on my desktop's windows 7 professional PC's Internet Explorer from Microsoft! I was very successful in adding qustodio to the computer and that seems to be handling chrome, but in my test Internet Explorer led me right to xhamster. I am trying to help a family member (no not myself) get over porn addiction! And I literally don't wanna sit there and add site after site in IE NOR do I want to change the DNS as I literally don't know what that'll do to the comp! I'd like something simple to understand as I am lucky I could do qustodio myself I've looked into it and I did outright remove Internet Explorer, but some of the necessary sites the person needs to use aren't working right on chrome! Help is greatly appreciated!
 
I use for the internet called Kiwi Browser it works pretty good for me I don't think it shows any ads or anything
 
I don't know that you can just "block porn" as an overall thing, but if you want to block specific porn sites, you might be able to list them in the 'Restricted Sites' under internet explorer's security options.
(don't know forsure if it'll work since I don't use internet explorer)

If you want to block (again specific sites) for all browsers & all users on the PC ... you can put them in the windows 'hosts' file (doing so is a bit more advanced, and you'll need to be logged in with an administrator account)
 
Christ that seems like a lot of frigging work! Like I said I disabled it but they need it for work as some of their needs are better met on IE but I don't want them screwing around when not supervised! Seems so asinine to have to supervise a grown ass adult but the destruction my family has faced because of this addiction is out of control!

Yep it'd deff be some work since you'd need to find all the sites they try to access (plus include the variants example: "pornhub.com" and "www.pornhub.com") . I've used the windows 'hosts' file for blocking sites, but it was for ads/spy/tracking/etc.
I get the IE thing, because like you say some sites just work better in certain browsers.

I did think of something that might work for just what you need & might not even be that bad to setup:
Windows 7 has a little known feature called 'Parental Controls' (I've never used it myself).
Be logged in as an Administrator, go to 'Control Panel', then 'Parental Controls', and see what you can do there!
 
There was nothing of any merit under the parental controls just game control and time limits there was an option for blocking sites but I have no idea where they were getting it and with such a saturation it'll be damn near impossible to guess! I did fix it so there were no games to be played also fixed it so overnight they won't be able to use it! I tried the DNS thing but that did literally nothing even after restarting the computer. I feel Microsoft and other internet companies are not doing enough to block kids and people with addiction from porn! I mean it is free and legal but for some can be as destructive as cocaine!
 
Dang when I remembered the parental controls thing, and noticed it had some sorta web filtering thing I thought it might be of use. What good is it - if a parent truly wanted to block their kids from porn or unsafe sites? (or like your case? or gambling addiction which is another bad one...)
Atheast you were able to get a bit of good out of it!

I'm not sure what you could do other than the 'hosts' file that I mentioned above. I could probably explain how to do it. (not particularly hard, but tedious especially if its allot of sites)

You could do something like buy a hardware firewall that supports content filtering and put it on his network, but there's the cost (and actually finding one that works right + doesn't have an ongoing "subscription" fee!) ... I've looked in the past for one myself(wanted to use it for blocking ads & junk/fake websites). Still plan to get(or build)one eventually since it also adds some hacking protection, but for now I setup what's called a pi-hole.
