May I introduce the divine Ms Leela; pictured here snoozing on the sofa midst a pile of fleecy blankets.

I collected her from her previous owner today. She is a beautiful little 4 month old white & fawn Whippet puppy who needed rehoming.

Dreams can come true. :D

The image was broken, but congrats on the new girl in your life.

I suppose you won't have time for us anymore.....

A Whippet eh? We'll make a Yorkshireman of you yet.

The pic's disappeared, but I'm sure she's real cute. :D

Yes.

She is quite a fine looking girl.

Hopefully she didn't need re-homing because she ate her previous owner's couch.

Whippets aren't too common around here. I suspect a vast majority of Canadians even know what they are. I know only because a friend of mine from long ago (he emigrated from Nottingham) had 2 of them.

She's a cutie.

I have to admit, though, when I saw your name and guessing from the title that you had a new pet, I was pretty much expecting to see pictures of a rat when I opened this thread.

I love the name. What a cutie.

She looks very sleepy. Knowing Whippets, I can only assume she'd had a busy day of running around knocking your lamps over. What a sweet little face!

I love Whippets---and Italian Greyhounds---they r so amazing and beautiful --it seems like your doggie may have won the doggie lottery and found a great home. Post more pics--

Thanks for the kind words everyone. (*8*)

I gave up keeping rats after having dozens over many years. They are so intelligent and clever, but their lives are short; I get very upset when they die.

My canary Izrafel (Izzie) died last year and since then I have had no pets. Life sure seems empty and dull at times without at least some other being living here. :(

Here is the tale of Izzie for anyone who may be interested. It was back in the days when I made very lengthy posts.

Meanwhile, Leela is settling in fine. ..|

How about a little update on Ms. Leela, Hoody?

^
No update ... the whole fucked-up episode is in the past and I no longer share anything personal here. Suffice to say no more pets for me.
