Thats really awesome. So many people dont "feel" like taking care of themselves.. and it hurts them in the end. You're actually using your second chance! Kudos to you ^^

Congrats J,

Just stick with it and dont push too hard up front, I tried that once and stuck with it for 2 or 3 months then I was burnt out and the bad habbits came back. I wish I stuck with it, becaus the results were just amazing. It was a complete body transformation in a matter of weeks, energy was off the hook

Just stick with it and dont exercise more then 3 or 4 times per week at the most. Your diet sounds awsome so just stick with it, no need to change anything there. Actually if you can throw in like 2 more snacks a day like a handful of nuts or a piece of fruit to make a total of 5-6 meals a day it'll be even better and give you more energy. Just remember though that the snacks should really be soemting that fits into the palm of your hand, anyting else is too much.

As far as the smoking goes............ FANTASTIC your going to succede. Everyone I know this year who's decided to stop smoking "cold turkey" has done wonerful and none of the 3 people has actually gone back to smoking at all regardless of some increased stress on one of them.

Keep up the great work.

A coincidence. I started with a gym on Wednesday with my evaluation. Today I go to learn the routines they will put me on. This is a university set-up, very thorough. Verdict: average cardiopulmonary health, excellent lower body strength (I walk every where and never use elevators) fair upper body strength (I got into the job I have because it was indoors and involved no heavy lifting) and I have a slight paunch that I can do something about with the right exercises. Never done any of this before, so I am curious about the results. I am an older guy, so they know to take it a bit easy and slowly introduce the activity. I will let you know in six months if I am a healthier, svelte, fast, stud muffin. On second thought. . . forget about the last part.

Good for you, make sure you dont over work yourself, or hurt yourself for that matter. Take your time, and if results arent happening as you want them to, dont feel bad, persistance in this business pays off.

I am so happy for you, a rebirth if you will. Are you also OUT?
If not, and you are gay/bi, this would be a great time to complete the transformation of "The new you"
Congratulations and good luck (*8*)

If you stay off the booze, you'll be amazed at how quickly the weight falls off especially if you control what you eat and keep exercising. I dropped 30 pounds in about 6 months that way.

Sweet. I gave up the booze 3 months ago and have lost weight (1/2 pound/week) without even trying and I can now tighten my belt a notch more. One of the best decisions I've ever made.

joeslifeyork, that's great! Congratulations! Keep it up, because the rewards are fantastic. I took charge of my life back in October. I know that I'm healthy, my body heals much faster, and my metabolism increased, too. Just make sure you drink a lot of water.

joeslife that is great news to hear , i hope that all goes well for you , i am starting a similar thing on wednesday!
