I'm very positive that there must have been others who have posted questions about iPhone's cover flow problems. I did try to google, but since this problem can be caused by multiple reasons, I have a hard time finding a solution to my situation.

Problem: Even under iTunes information of songs from the same album is all matched up, when I transfer them to my iPhone, same cover is displayed multiple times for the same album while different songs of the album are listed under "different" covers.

What I think the problem is: 1) I don't get music from iTunes Store. I buy CDs, and I converted them into MP3s via iTunes, so I think my problem is that some songs from the same album were converted at a different time (Thus, iTunes versions differ), and iPhone somehow thinks they're from a different album.

2) When an artist release a "best-of" album, instead of buying the new one, I simply just re-organize what I have into that album, but somehow iPhone thinks they're from different albums.

My question: There must be an easy way to fix it rather than converting all of them again at the same time. Does anyone know about this exact situation?

Thank you very much in advance.

This sounds like a problem with the tags. Make sure your tags are identical for all files and that should fix it.

If there are multiple artists per album or compilation, be sure to set the 'album artist' tag. Also, avoid selecting 'compilation' as it tends to set the artist as "Various Artists'.

You mean ID3 Tags? I checked the ID3 tags of one album, they're already all the same, but they still appear as different albums on iPhone.

I don't have compilation albums like the NOW series, only "best-of" albums by the same artist.

Take a closer look. IIRC it's on one of the last tabs. There's something off with the id3 tags that's causing itunes to see them as separate albums.

I took another look, I'm almost certain it's not a tag problem, because I just convert songs from a single album together into ID3 tag v2.2, and they still appear as different albums on my iPhone while on iTunes they're perfectly one album.

Ahh. My apologies, I completely didn't see that it's the iphone only that's splitting into multiple albums.

FOr that, I have no ideas, sorry.

Sorry I wasted your time.
