you can't put 2 simm cards into them ?

1 simm card for mobile broadband plan.
1 simm card for mobile phone plan.

How can you combine the 2 simm cards together from 2 different companies ?

There's only one phone I've found that can accommodate two sims.

However, I don't know if one can specify the use for each.

look on ebay for dual sim card. I dont know how they work but I suspect only one card at a time

Yes, there is a dual sim card phone BUT that phone doesn't have mobile broadband (that is 3G).

iphone/Omnia has mobile broadband (3G) BUT it is sort of useless if you can't use both or you have to change the sim card everytime you want to use broadband or phone.

Why not just use a separate 3G modem and 3G phone? This has the added benefit of not running your phone battery flat while you use your computer. Most Telcos in Australia will give you a 3G modem for free if you use their plans.

do you mean a USB mobile modem can plug into a 3G phone ? That would be great if it works.

oh you mean a laptop and a separate mobile phone.

So iphone/Omnia offer both services (broadband & phone) but can't use. Whats the point of people buying them.

Our wired internet burned down a couple of days ago. I used my jail broken iphone with pdanet installed as a wireless router / internet connection. It worked really well.
