Iran: Pastor Nadarkhani refuses to recant during trial

"Iranian pastor Yousef Nadarkhani has twice refused to recant his Christian faith during two court hearings held in Rasht, Gilan Province on 25 and 26 September. Sources close to CSW indicate that recanting will again be demanded at sessions scheduled for 27 and 28 September, and that if he continues to refuse, he will be executed thereafter."

This brave man is my hero. I doubt he will get much compassion here, however.

This is what happens with Theocracy, be it Islamic or Christian.

If he would rather die than recant because he believes 72 virgins would greet him in paradise as his reward, you'd turn over and go back to sleep.

Who are you?

No one should ever have to face being executed for their beliefs.

The death penalty for apostasy is, apparently, not to be found in the Quran, it seems to be derived from secondary sources of hadith and shariah.

I admire Pastor Nadarkhani for standing up for his beliefs. He is in my thoughts and prayers.

I thought that his death sentence has been commuted.

I just hope that the Iranian Supreme Court will come to its senses - executing someone for his religious beliefs is just barbaric in this modern times.
