Iraqi Christians (Assyrian Christians)

That made me cry. They must see death everyday or at least quite often over there. I wonder how long before the United States starts to see death quite as often via bombings and other things like that. They all seemed very connected as a people...why can't the USA be like this!?

That is the way the culture is, plus they mostly lived so closed to each other. The Assyrian community in the US can gather up together like that even when we have different assyrian christian church denomination such as the Chaldean Catholic(Roman Catholic), Assyrian Catholic, Assyrian Church of the East, Assyrian Othrodox, Syriac Othrodox, and even the Armenian churches with some members as Assyrians and many other churches.(*8*)

This is one made me cry because of the aramaic assyrian song.

My heart weeps for the Iraqi Christians and all Christians suffering under Islamic tyranny. They are so tightly nit and they as such a close community that you can feel the love from these videos. Plus we must remember that even though they now worship Jesus it is Inanna who shines though Jesus's iconography. The same can not be said however of the Muslims though.

Your comments are bigoted against Muslims, there are a billion of them, and you can't generalise, just like I can't generalise about Christianity and Christians after what Christians did to my people in the Holocaust, and colonialism, and slavery, and all of the wars Christians are waging around the world.

We cannot forget that Saddam Hussein was a strict secularist, and his second hand man, Tareq Aziz was a Christian. Assyrian suffering in Iraq became worse after the US invaded and decided to stir up religious passions by siding with the heavily religious Shia community. It is the US that caused the fragmentation of Iraq along communal lines, and the subsequent violence. If Christians around the world are so worried about Middle Eastern Christians, who are overwhelming Eastern Orthodox, then they should stop the wars that make life difficult for everyone, and more importantly, stop sending Baptist and other Protestant missionaries who are trying to convert Eastern Orthodox communities to white European versions of Christianity.

This is BS even if Saddam was a secularist his laws preferred the Muslims. Next if you wish to generalized about Christianity I don't care as I hate the religion. I also hate your's as well. The Torah is know for it's violence and bloodshed. However even still Islam fully sanctions and mandates violence and should stop being defended by useful idioys. Next I agree that the Iraq war was handled foolishly and I don't like Missionairies at all. However I know many non white Protestants so your ideology of Protestantism as a White Man's religion is false.

Well, as you say, that you don't mind generalising about religions, so I don't see where I could have anything to say to you.

Things got better in Iraq for Assyrians.... most likely they get own their own goverment in the Nineveh Plains in northern Iraq (assyrian autonomy)... and other good news is that Allawi (A secular) the new president in Iraq is working with Assyrians thats why many voted him and glad that he won the election.

Assyria will RISE... Blessing to the Assyrian Nations

PS Yesterday was Akitu day... so Happy Assyrian New Year to all... 6760

Democracy can too easily turn into a dictatorship of the majority. Democracy has almost no value without the concepts of the rule of law and respect for minority human rights and freedoms.

I don’t know much about particular religious factions or minorities within Iraq.

What I do know is that a just and lasting settlement must respect all minority rights (including gays) – and not lead to a “Majority Dictatorship”

Whether the US invasion did more harm than good is a moot point – it’s probably something most US Citizens (ie: the people that funded it) now think was a mistake – but supported at the time.

On the other hand - it's hard to think of the fall of Sadam as anything other than a good thing – though I’m totally against his execution – life in prison – YES – but the idea of the “State” killing people in cold blood is disgusting (to most of the civilized world except the USA, the Chinese and a few other unsavory regimes)

Why do you hate all 3 religions?, you said The Torah is known for its violence and bloodshed, but, really, has there ever been a Jewish empire that tried to impose itself on all others?, no, do Jews believe in converting everyone to Judaism?, no, and, as for the bloodshed in the Torah, I assume you're referring to things like the "Conquest of Canaan", which is not historical (there was no conquest, at least, no widespread one, and there was no bloodshed, violence, at least, on the scale you're probably thinking of). BTW, all cultures have violence in them - Romans, Egyptians, Americans, British, ancient Greeks, etc - do you hate every single culture that has ever existed.

No offence, but, you seem so hate filled that I pity you, I believe that if you're obsessed with/focus on hate, that's what you become.
