I think Samuel's no non-sense attitude, and character traits make him the perfect candidate for General Nick Fury.

However, I agree that Samuel L Jackson can make a good Nick Fury, and at least it isn't as big a change as what they did to Galactus.

i agree, i love samuel l. jackson. sure all of his characters are all pretty much the same but damn if he isn't fun to watch!

although one of my friends did say he thought they should have gotten the hoff to reprise the roll.

naturally we beat him to a pulp and left him in the theater. ;)

Really?!? :confused::confused::confused:
Where??!! :help::eek:

yay! somebody finally asked me!

it's really very subtle, did you notice the name of the terrorist cell?

the ten rings?

how many rings does the mandarin have? ;)

yeah, i know it isn't much but it is there nonetheless.

Were you waiting for someone to ask you?!? ;)

GOSH! You're right!
Well, it's not much but it's enough....
Now we only have to wait some 5 years to see the sequel...:mad::cry:

Re: iron man!!!

oh! and i saw new trailers for the dark knight, indiana jones and the incredible hulk! honestly, this is already turning into a 'must see' movie summer!

movie summer?
movie YEAR!
lol. 2008 has been a fantastic year for movies. its been awesome. especially since most of the movies last year and maybe the year before were kinda "blegh".

OH! OUUUCHHH!

do NOT diss the Hoff!! lol. but you know what? Robert Downey Jr. was an excellent choice for the role. Rob Hoffman woulda been a tight iron man, though..

I like where your friend's mind is at :]

LOL! no...

david hassellhoff played nick fury in a tv movie a couple of years back.

it may have been on fox i believe. ;)

....oh.
lol.
now i feel REALLY stupid.
myyy baddd.... Samuel Jackson was a fine actor and all, it just didn't fit the role. "old white guy with a receding hairline and grey hair above his ears" is Nick Fury's trademark look! I'd be fine with good ol' Sam if he didn't contrast the traditional corny look of the character.

(and my bad again. when i hear anybody possibly insult Robert Hoffman, I get all defensive. lol. you know how it is with those darn celebrity obsessions..)

ha. wow.
i dont think i could feel more like an idiot if i tried...

and im a comic book NERD, too!
dang.
im dissappointed...
in myself ....

Oh, heaven forbid the director of S.H.E.I.L.D. be a black man!
OHNOES YOUR REALITY IS COLLAPSING!

You do know that Ultimate Nick Fury is Black right?
Does it really bug you that much?

I think Samuel's no non-sense attitude, and character traits make him the perfect candidate for General Nick Fury.

Actually, I didn't know that. I was referring to the Nick Fury character that I know of. My apologies if it came off as racist.](*,)](*,)](*,)

I'm an old school Marvel fan (stopped in '98 or so, which is relevant to my question below), so I can see where Glafna is coming from. However, I agree that Samuel L Jackson can make a good Nick Fury, and at least it isn't as big a change as what they did to Galactus.

What is the point of the 'Ultimate' line?

I agree, he should make a good Nick Fury. The change to Galactus.... well, it wasn't the Galactus we known and feared, it was the Galactus of a new generation.... One of special effects and a hatred of giant purple-armored figures.

Marvel Studios' "Iron Man" clinched another $20.1 million, bringing its domestic total to $252.3 million.

[No wonder why a sequel is set for release in 2010.]

I'm not buying the story about the hype surrounding "The Incredible Hulk " mentioned in the article. It'll be a sort of miracle if that movie makes more than 150 millions at the box office.

As for the "Ironman" sequel, I'm absolutely thrilled about the Mandarin. I hope they get a decent actor to play the role.

^ yeah, i'm not sure what to make of that new hulk movie. i heard a rumor that norton isn't promoting the film as it did not turn out to be what he had hoped. so who knows? not to mention the visuals i've seen so far look less than impressive.
