I am using a scandisk U3. i got it a few months ago. I have not used it a great deal, the U3 features that is. i got it 'cause it was a 4 gig drive for only 49 bucks. I do use the Email thing, foxit (pdf reader/editor), and the portable firefox. firefox runs great, and the foxit pdf thing runs WAY faster than adobe ever dreamed of. the email thing errors out all the time (it's thunderbird) for some reason. so...i like it. the programs i'm using so far were all free and you manage and install these U3 programs from the U3 task bar that appears on your windows task bar. it's very neat.

edit: i'm looking at some of their free programs now and i see openoffice is on there, so i'm downloading that. i'll let ya know how that goes.

well i just opened a few 120 page ms word documents with open office from the U3 drive as well as a 16 color slide (with animation) power point pres and they all ran just fine and very smooth and opened fast. So i'm really liking the U3 thing. i did notice that open office took a long time to install (plus the download size from the U3 site was 73 MB in size). But it is all working. if you can find a dsl or other high speed connection to download the programs with i think you'll be very satisfied with the programs. ;)

mine is a sandisk, i like it. so you ordered both a 2 and a 4 giger? i don't think mine says titanium on it... it's plugged in so i can't look. i'm importing my outlook messages ;) i finally got thunderbird to work. i had to go to gmail's web site and look up how to configure it with gmail.

/\ oh my you had a long night. i had trouble with my sandisk at first not disconnecting when i wanted to unplug it. it kept telling me it was busy. but by some miracle it just started working on its own. for a while i was leaving it plugged in until i shut down.

i still couldn't get thunderbird to function at work today. it does work here at home, so i'm guessing that we don't allow some of the ports that gmail wants to have open open at work.

sorry you had so much trouble with your drive, but i think you'll continue to love it.

while i was working on a project from work my 4 gig drive had 2.93 gb of GIS data on it. lol.

/\ hum...that seems odd. if you don't have a file you are downloading (it uploads the pieces you've already downloaded) and you aren't sharing one...then i don't know why it would show you as having anything uploading?
