The instant search in google stopped working and most sites I click on take me to some weird websites....

Anyone else having this problem?

No, I can't say that I am.

Sorry to hear it.

You mean beyond the usual 'search for product review, sift through 4 pages of sales links' problems? Nope.

If you're constantly redirected to random sites, I'd investigate a possible infection. Running a scan would be a good measure.

Also, months back there was a big problem with sites somehow creeping up in the search results that would then redirect users to the phony 'your pc is infected' stuff. I think they've since pruned a lot of them.

I hate those ads. Just for fun I started reading them. So far, less than 0.025% have any relevance to me -- and they're supposed to be "personalized".

^ I pay attention to them no more.

I wish I could block everything google but it's results suck less than the others. =[

It's all the 'suckage' I think of when someone suggests I switch to google Chrome -- I have enough grief from google now; you want I should invite more? No matter how good it may be, google's history tells me they'll find a way to screw it up.

I refuse to use google unless I absolutely must. I tried Chrome and determined that a Smith-Corona and USPS, with a calculator would be easier. I thought I would never get rid of it - thought about renting a terrier to ferret it out of the cracks it had insinuated itself into. They try to make one entry do too many things - mostly what I do not want to do. T eschew FB for the same reason

When I put Google's ads on block it messed up Google all together, like it won't let me load up Google Maps and the site seems to be non-functional once you block those annoying frames where they place the ads. Google is smart and they know how ad block works so once you block the stuff that annoys you the site stops working.
