Is anyone going to be getting the iPhone 7?

Didn't bother with the iPoops 1-6 (or any sub versions thereof), why would I waste money on an iPoop 7?

Well -- as underwhelming as the new phone appears -- I ended up getting it.

I have no idea how Verizon makes money from this deal (nor do I care) -- as they offered me $650 trade in on my 2 year old iPhone 6.

So -- it was basically the $20 activation fee, $26 in sales tax, plus $100 for the 128Gb version.

Kind of a no brainer decision.

I should have it by next Friday.

I use my phone all day every day and I'm hoping that the improvements over the last 2 years are enough for me to actually notice. The better camera will be nice -- but most importantly, I need longer battery life.
 
I have managed to avoid Iphones 1 through 6.

And now, 7.

In fact, I only currently have a voice phone that I use for calling out. No messaging, no in calls.

No spending half my life picking up the goddamned device and checking it ever 5 minutes and worried because I haven't had a reply text in the last two minutes.

And I love telling clients and everyone, actually, that they can't reach me every minute of the day or evening or middle of the night because they are bored.

That reminds me of something Verizon is advertising now. When you get a voice mail, their technology automatically translates it and sends it as an Email to your account.

I have to ask myself: Why?

It would be interesting, though, to see how it handles various accents and dialects.

It is a nightmare. Incomprehensible sometimes.

Likewise text to voice is often totally incomprehensible.

Anyone call from landline i hardly take the calls
because they are normally from sales people or from charity ask for donations.
Other people also don't usually take landline calls.

I feel sorry for some people who are afraid of mobile phones and internet like my sisters.
They are so far behind with technology and communication.
 
For many its not actually a fear of mobile phones, its simply about not enslaving ourselves to them.

As usual, you don't know anything. I don't have a mobile phone. I have internet and a computer and I am quite proficient with both. I know enough about it to stay away from Facebook. I don't have a cell phone. I don't need a cell phone. I am NOT out of touch with technology. I am very-much in touch with it. Moreover, I am in touch with reality.

How can one not "know how to use the internet"? It isn't like there's an instruction manual or anything. It can be used in a multitude of ways for a multitude of purposes. If one knows how to use a dictionary, an encyclopedia, a library card catalog or any photo album one knows how to use the internet.
