Is being a loner okay?

I am 41 years old and have always been a loner. Even as a teen/young adult. I even now only have two people I consider friends. I LIKE being alone (most of the time).

Having said that I do want to say my isolationism left me with practically NO social skills. I have a lot of trouble now knowing the general rules and definitions on how to make friends, or even boyfriends. So, even though there is nothing wrong with liking your quite time and such, I do caution you about spending too much time apart from society while you are young. I LOVED being alone for the first 30 years of my life; now I sometimes regret it. (P.S.-----I sound lonely and depressed; I'M NOT!)

There is nothing wronge with that at all I am the same exact way, I have a couple best friends but I dont call them often, I rather be by myself also, I am happiest alone! Im always alone neway lol

As a fellow loner, with only 3 close friends and very few acquaintances, I feel your question personally.

There is nothing wrong with being a tad bit anti-social, but it depends on how you feel about it. If you're unhappy about it, then obviously it is. If not, if you feel just hunky-dory about, then keep on doing what your doing.

Although, it is possible to go through bouts of both situations.
