Is Brexit Dead?

But what actually is happening?

Have the opposition just rolled over?

Is Johnson going to have to ask for an extension?

It is virtually radio silence from all quarters.

It’s bizarre. My best guess is that stupid Corbyn wants Brexit but he thinks stupid Boris will take the blame. It all come to a head this Friday. I’m expecting a motion to replace the PM and hold a referendum either on May’s deal vs Remain, or if Boris actually manages by some miracle to shit out a deal, then his aborted foetus of a treaty vs Remain. IF Parliament doesn’t dispense with this clown by the weekend, then we know the UK has fallen too, despite the very best efforts in the history of the Westminster system, by both the Speaker and Lady Brooch.

Another fuck up of a day, trying again on Monday/Tuesday to get it passed, either way things are looking good for another Scottish independence ref.

Well that didn't go as hoped today, did it Boris?

What happened?

Boris tried to get Parliament to pass Brexit on Saturday based on his rough description of Brexit...approximately...in General..you get the gist of it...and Parliament told him to get stuffed, and show all the details.

So he tried again today: “Pretty please,” and the Speaker said he remembered what happened only two days ago because he was in the room and not dead of a heart attack, so no, he would not allow another vote on exactly the same thing so sulky Boris is pouting.

So, is there any chance that the end of this might actually be Britain remaining in the EU? One of the jabbering heads on the TV was saying something like that, but I had thought that was not any kind of option.

Two prime ministers have tried to pass a brexit treaty through parliament and two prime ministers have failed.

The government was right to negotiate an agreement but since no one had any idea what the negotiations would produce, it is ridiculous to think they can just go ahead and do it.

What should be done is a second referendum, this time not a vague “would you like to go with some sort of deal maybe?” but an actual concrete: Do you want to remain in Europe, or do you want to leave with this treaty? Final answer.

It was all theoretical in the first vote. Now they have something concrete to vote on. It’s the right way to move past it.

What can potentially happen to the Prime Minister for his letter contradicting his required letter to the EU?

Nothing.

The EU is likely pissed that they are being placed in the middle of a squabble, but Johnson's letter has no legal substance since the EU is likely to be guided by the will of Parliament.

But there will come a point where the EU countries have all their post Brexit planning in place (as opposed to the UK which appears to have no real technical plans for the post EU era ready) and they may just pull the plug themselves once they are confident it won't be a disaster for the Bloc.

I've lost the will to live LOL. News media should just ignore Brexit

The lib dems and the scots are being ridiculous. Let's have an election. No! Lets have a referendum!

That needs to be in the legislation and called promptly. An election solves nothing. The Lib Dems will not win an election based on promising to remain. It's rough going to imagine Labour winning an election based on "Eventually we shall consider the need to have a referendum but only once re-renegotiating a stupid leave-europe bid of our own, because we're much cleverer at leaving Europe than the tories, trust us!" It's not fair to expect Remain voters to vote for that crap.

So the result of all this election farce is: Tories and Brexit. They're the dumbest of the dumb.

And now we're having a Christmas general election, not sure i'll even bother voting if it's cold out.

I can't even comprehend not voting to end our national embarrassment. I'd wade through drifts of snow in a driving blizzard to get to the polls, and I plan to drag as many people as I can right along with me.

Is Brexit dead? Not after last week's general election it isn't. We'll be out by the end of January.

I am AMerican British and now live in Spain. without a deal which is where it stands now the UK is fucked financially. There are now more Food Banks than Mc Donald´s. My partener voted no on Brexit and the next Morning he called estate agents and a few month late we move to Spain. Boris Johnon is a fucking idiot and he UK is now def toast!

This Brexit brought to you by: Opposition morons, and Jeremy Fucking Corbyn. As predicted. On schedule.

What a difference a few months and another election can make, huh?! The leftists got soundly defeated in the last election and now Brexit is back on track. The people went populist again. It makes me wonder how the American people will vote in 11 months from now? Another Trump victory perhaps? Maybe the House will swing back to the Republicans again? Will Nancy have to give up her little gavel again? How long has that woman been in power anyways? over 3 decades, right? Maybe it is time for her to step down anyways and spend the rest of her life enjoying her millions of dollars and lavish lifestyle.

With today's loss...not even a close vote, it seems that either it will be a vote to exit without a deal, which I can't imagine happening in a million years unless the Commons is suicidal at this point....or a delayed Brexit...or is it now possible, not at all?
