Given the assassination of the UHC CEO...if Musk and Rathswamy make good on their pledge to strip Veterans' benefits....how many potential disgruntled potential assassins with a shitload of guns are there likely to be out there?

Yes it would take legislation and while Musk and Rathawamy are very excited about their mission they might want to consider how members of congress raise money to fund their ever more expensive campaigns. Cutting government spending means cutting the opportunity to raise money. The question isn’t do we need the department of education the question is, even for those congressmen who hate the department of education, do I raise money off of it.

That is the wall Musk and Rathawamy are about to run into and I doubt these 2 brilliant businessmen see it coming at all.

It's tied to the "unitary executive" theory. Trump selects advisors who tell him what he wants to hear and those advisors are telling him that the President can ignore or override funds appropriated for a purpose by Congress. It will likely end up in the Federal Courts and with this activist irrational SCOTUS, who knows what will happen.

We're all going to regret that Biden and the 117th Congress did so little to reform SCOTUS and the Appeals Courts.
 
The reform of the SC is always a non-starter.
