That's the stereotype but that gives women a pass. It also is a western-centric view; this is a worldwide phenomenon.I guess that as more incel 300 pound chin beards with pre-Type 2 diabetes who are living in their parents' basement or a trailer on their front lawn see their motility count dwindle, the talibangelicals are going to be fighting a losing battle.
What is happening is correlated to the internet and to mobile devices but also in the ways that men and women are using them.
Women are using phones to browse Instagram and for chat. Men are using them for gaming and watching podcasts. Both men and women are using them for porn but more important, both are using them for confirmation bias. They are first finding content that makes them feel, "there are other people like me" but then the algorithms kick in and start feeding them more and more of the same type of content.
This is resulting in isolation, where both men and women are isolated. It also means that men and women are finding less and less things in common. Women complain that it's hard to find quality men worth dating, marrying or having children with. Men complain it's hard to find women that are interested in going out with them.
And yes, having big beards and questionable hygiene practices might be part of it. But I'm finding that straight men are doing things in the gym that are more extreme and they're doing it under the belief that women like it. The reality is that men are doing these things to impress other men.
They falsely assume that this will result in more children, based upon their belief that they can recreate the 1950s. What will more likely happen is that women will withhold sex from men or they will raise children without men. With divorce rates hovering around 40-50% for heterosexuals, more babies means more children in single parent homes. The big question though is whether Project 2025 can outlaw birth control.
It doesn't seem to occur to them that maybe figuring out how to raise boys and girls to be better adults might make for more stable families.
There are some interesting studies that came out about a decade ago that looked at crime statistics. Their conclusion was that crime began to decline in western countries when birth control and legal safe abortions became available. Their hypothesis was that fewer unwanted pregnancies resulted in fewer criminals being born. That's something that the Project 2025 crowd doesn't want to talk about.Because the future of evangelical US would appear to be making sure that women have to carry their rapist's baby to full term.
