Is Elon Musk in Trouble?

We all knew when Musk bought this platform thatit was populated by hundreds of thousands and possibly millions of fake accounts and bots. Musk himself tried to get the price knocked down
based on this until he figured out he could monetize the fakes.

It is looking like one of the greatest self-owns ever.

There has been a flood of images on social media that basically show that MAGA is nothing more or less than a Kremlin and other bad actor state construct.

And that Xitter has now been exposed as being pretty much a hollow shell, filled with fakes and trolls to propel division and hate.

Of course, the likelihood is that the Department of State page is just another troll page from a third world country paid for by the Kremlin.

^ I'm starting to think that JUB is the last place left where real people can have a civilised discussion without any fakery or fatuous shit stirring. :jk:

The MAGA account locations on that map coincide eerily with the prevalence of male genital mutilation on this map. That Putin has his finger in so many pies.

You do realize by the laughing rofl that I posted it as a joke?

The meme itself was making fun of the majority of Xitter MAGA accounts being offshore.

When you quit..go out with the truth...it won't move the needle at this point...but finally someone near the apex has said it out loud..

Tesla sales have apparently dropped to a nearly 3-year Low, despite launching cheaper models of its Model Y and Model 3 cars.

Declining interest generally and of course there is the whole Cyberjunk debacle as well.

I've never bought into the "genius" label for Elon. Sometimes sociopathy can be confused with genius.

This interview lacks logic. First of all, who asked Elon Musk to "fix" us?

Second, can anyone follow his logical jump from the bankruptcy of social insurance programs to the need for AI to eliminate the workers who pay into these programs to keep them funded?

Musk is now over the edge. As you say, too many people branded him a genius when he was all junked up on various drugs and he believed the hype.

In reality, he is just another avatar for people needing a front man, but he had the business savvy to take other peoples' stuff and slap his name on it and to get the taxpayer to foot the bills.

Hi obsession with saving his genetic material to populate Mars has always been the faver dream of an emotionally and frankly intellectually stunted manchild. Many times his arguments fail at the level of a 14 year old kid's logic...and the sooner that the US stops trewating him like a demi-messiah, the better the chance for recovery from the damage he wreaks.

Frankly, Musk was made possible by the messianic (or cult) style of leadership that has dominated the tech industry since Steve Jobs took the helm back at Apple. The results he achieved were so admired, that now you literally have people blatantly imitating him for lack of their own ideas (you can't tell me that Tim Cook and the lady who ran the Theranos scam just happened to love black mock turtlenecks that much for their own reasons). Accountability isn't in Division Valley's dictionary when it comes to CEOs of large companies. Musk is the richest, loudest, and most annoying of their ilk at the moment, but treating someone like they're God and throwing literally mountains of cash at them because they said pretty promises is a perfect blueprint for a sociopath factory. Somehow, some way, these people need to learn that they aren't above the rest of us, but I have no answers. Maybe we put teeth back into anti-trust laws and start cracking down hard on anticompetitive practices. Maybe we actually tax them in ways they can't legally avoid, and prosecute the ones that try anyway.

If past is prologue, we have been through all of this before. This is very much like the Gilded Age, when a small number of "geniuses" cornered the markets, amassed great fortunes on the backs of low-wage workers and used their money to subvert the democratic process. A few of those ultra-wealthy people reinvested their fortunes for the public good, but the overall damage to society is what led to the reforms of the early 20th century to prevent the disproportionate aggregation of wealth and power in the hands of the few.

There are some good things that have come out of the tech revolution. I'm typing on one of them.

But would society be better without social media, self-driving vehicles and AI? Some people would. Certainly, the young people who have grown up in the era of mobile phones, social media and device-induced ADHD would be better off with less tech.

With the White House enthusiastically endorsing AI and the tech billionaires donating millions to Trump, as well as constantly appearing at the White House, I suspect the backlash is coming... especially a backlash by those whose jobs will be replaced by the AI products that no one asked for.

AI is a place where we still have a chance. By choosing to avoid AI and products marketed with/by AI, we can slow the advance.
Or if we don't, the investment bubble will when it bursts. Hopefully.
