  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Is Florida about to get its own version of Section 28?

The right wing zealots still think that being a homo is a choice that you only make after reaching puberty.

This idea always fascinated me. Is this something they just made up or do they speak from experience?

Wouldn't it imply that everybody gets to a point where they have to make this choice? That we are all born bisexual?

I can understand how people who are legitimately gay have to grapple with it, but this is due to widespread societal norms and established gender roles.

I don't recall hearing similar stories from heteroseuals: "When did you decide to be straight?"

I believe that everybody, even hets who are secure in their sexualities, experience some degree of same-sex attraction at some point in their development. I assume most of them work through it and leave it behind. The ones who don't, who continue to grapple with those gay feelings that just won't go away, are these the ones who go on and on about his 'choice' nonsense?

I've always been suspicious of homophobes who are a little too proud of their heterosexuality and feel the need to scream it from the mountaintop.

Wanna know where this ends?

Wanna know where this ends?

Saying again because no one appears to get it:

Fascism 101: In an ignorant, brainwashed public, create faux outrage and fear about a nonexistent threat, and you can control them. This is all just one more link in the chain of fascism winding its tentacles throughout state legislatures. It will, sooner than you think, have enough unstoppable power, at enough governmental levels, to enslave and strangle the entire country. If republicans are able to gain control of both Houses of Congress and enough state legislatures in November, there are no limits to what they might do. They will call an Article V convention and tear apart the Constitution. If they gain back the presidency, don't think concentration camps, Gestapo raids, and permanent martial law are off the table. There is a fascist apocalypse coming that has the potential to make Nazi Germany look like a garden party. This is not a driil. Sieg Heil.

It has always been a truism that those that shout loudest have most to hide

'HOMOPHOBES AREN'T SCARED OF KIDS DISCUSSING SEXUALITY - THEY'RE SCARED OF THEM NOT BEING STRAIGHT'

That is what this is all about.

It is exactly the same justification for conversion therapies.
They think that you can be reprogrammed to be either straight or gay.
It's rubbish of course

^ Ahh...a real Christian. Why is it that the voices of the fake, selfish, hateful religious types always drown out the voices of those who practice their faith in an honest way?

Isn't it the same with every religion? The very vocal tiny minority give the rest a very bad name

I hope this is true.

^ Oh that's good. I hope Mr. XXX is a teacher.

I was afraid it would say "I will be hiring a sex worker of each sex as soon as she enters the fourth grade."

Florida of the North, also known as Ohio, is now attempting to pass the same bill.

^ True definition and description, for sure! (*8*)

Half of Florida will likely be underwater in another ten years so fuck 'em.
It's because in a slurry of mixed liquid sewage, the scum ALWAYS rises to the top.

It happens with religion, Republicans and Democrats, corporate boards, etc. Human nature at work.

We are not very kind to this planet.
