  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Is Gen. Mattis gay?

Well...when your love is the "lifelong devotion to the study of war" a relationship must be difficult.

I believe a good looking guy in military who never marries and has no real girls to speak of---isn't real straight.

I said this on Facebook about him and was attacked because "he's military, he's married to his job. Has no times for girls." Ummmmm whatever....I find this a lame excuse and they used to say the same thing about Mayor Koch-----Lol

"Mattis is a lifelong bachelor[66] who has never been married and has no children.[1] He is nicknamed "The Warrior Monk" "

Of course gay gay gay,
if not, how can he cum? Use what type of porn ???

I think it possible he is asexual, meaning of course, likely inhibited gay.

Rational thinking invites the thinker to reason that if one is married to a woman, and has fathered children with her, there is no reason to believe that the father could be gay....unless, you are the male lover of that husband, and father.

There are life long bachelor males who are not gay, and there are married men, with children who are gay.

One can infer what one wants, without knowing the truth.

Appearances are often deceiving.¬ Aesop

Is it any of your business?

Are you offering to intervene yourself into his life?

Yes. But you wouldn't understand.

Mattis will be overseeing the Pentagon. And will be running a military that has a long and terrible history with LGBT...only under Obama have homos been able to openly serve.

Mattis also has opinions on the role of women in the military.

So yeah.

It matters.

Way more than your bizarre obsession with Chelsea Manning.

It is interesting to see the foreign interest in our cabinet nominee, with no parallel interest in the Russian state actors when Russia has openly anti-gay laws. The altruism is palpable.

Trust me.

Many 'foreigners' are just as interested in Russia...except that the 'foreigners' all recognize that Russia is a repressive, oligarchical, corrupt state run by ex KGB thugs intent on dominating Europe, dismantling NATO and laying waste to US interests...never for a minute pretending to be a liberal western democracy or the 'Shining City on the Hill'.

It is why the 'foreigners', particularly those in Western liberal democracies who will be working with the US in NATO and other possible alliances are so interested in the choice of Trump's cabinet nominee to run the Pentagon.

It is little more than catty gay gossip exchanged between rivals on the forum. Neither of you live in the U.S., and there is no policy statement attributed to Mattis to even make the speculation relevant to policy. Trump's nominees already oppose his stated positions on many fronts, so assuming Trump's biases are theirs is a hard sell.

If and when Mattis' sexual orientation becomes a relevant factor in actual or proposed policy changes, and if they have bearing on global or regional LGBT rights, then it would appear relevant for Canadians and Australians to allegedly worry. Otherwise, it's just the same old goddamned RB/Grimshaw saga of point/counterpoint over everything and nothing until it pervades every thread like a fungus spreading.

Your magnanimous representation of Western democracies is every bit as welcome as Putin's. For the record, NATO doesn't really see its members making suggestions for cabinet positions for the member states. But do carry on in your ex-officio role for Canada's state department. We'll alert Kissinger that you ex-guys will be teamed for the enterprise at hand.

If he is and that's a "who cares" if, there should be no job discrimination, should there?

It is fair to wonder, as people wonder about any public figure, but it is hardly an issue without some policy statement or linked actions.

But it being of interest to foreign citizens not resident in the U.S. seems bizarre, western democracies be damned. There are most certainly homophobes in all the western democracies in office and in the military hierarchies, but you won't find comments in the forums for their leaders. There is an obsession with the U.S., and a proxy fight that has little to do with actual relevance or even potential impact. We're just the next room over from the bar and RB and Grimshaw are tumbling through in their ongoing brawl.

It is the media.
If the media didn't report it, we don't know about it.

I did make a thread called "RUSSIA is a SICK country". Hope to get more chat from that, and maybe the Russians living in foreign lands will chat about Russia's Sickness too.

I have no clue what your last line refers to (and I don't want to know, let's stay on topic) but I agree with everything else in this post.

If a man is gay and enforces or even introduces anti-gay measures, he's fair game to be outed.

If he does no harm, do no harm to him.

Oh where would we all be without you to wag your finger and excoriate all of us when you are bored or in a dark mood.

If the US did not have a tradition of always being at or creating some new war someplace in the world for the last 60 years, probably no one anywhere in the world would give two shits about who the desk jockey is at the Pentagon. But experience tells us that every citizen on earth needs to be interested in who any president selects for the post. And because it is an incredibly powerful position to hold...and that it won't be a 'civilian' holding it....it is only reasonable that we all know as much about this man as possible.

You just seem pissed off that any mention at all has been made about America's slow progress in allowing homos to openly serve in the military. The questions have been posed to Mattis about his positions on this as well as his position about women in combat roles.

Sometimes people below the 49th seem to forget that many 'foreigners' have ties and interests in the US, including friends and family and can't imagine why anyone would be interested in what is happening in DC because they have no interest in what is happening outside of their own country.
