Is Google Earth good???

google earth is sooooo fun. but once you find your house ur like. oh. what now. its funn making the earth spin really fast lol

Well you can do things like "look here is where I used to live and here is how to get there from the airport. (press the play arrow under the route a couple of times and you should "drive the route" Note above links only work if you have Google Earth. As wth so many things you are only limited by your imagination. Hey come with me to the Himalayas

oh fiddlesticks what do I need to download to see what you just did?

Google Maps has a pretty cool feature called Street View. It allows you to go down to street level and actually see images of the street. Try the following link and you will see a little person which you can drag to any blue outlined road.

http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8...7&z=14&om=1&layer=c&cbll=25.798271,-80.209595

It currently works in San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, Las Vegas, Denver and Miami.

Ok i went to maps . Now what? i can't see a button called 'street view'. how do you get that little man?

You need to click on that link I provided. When it loads there will be a little person which you drag to where you want to view. It's in beta I think so you won't be able to see it just by visiting Google Maps.

Screw Microsoft. Google Earth is great. I do a lot of traveling for work and have everywhere I've been marked out. Plus you can even check out some of the actual satellite scans for any area. i enjoy playin with it.

Google Earth helped us find a hotel, in Portland, for our upcoming vacation. I was looking at the area, near the airport and spotted a hotel, next to a Tri-max Station. Called the visitor's bureau and they gave me the name. I love it.

Google earth is great, the only thing is that some of the satellite pics are old, ie: where I live the area has been up and running for some time now but in the pics of Victoria it shows construction is just under way.
Matt1809 gave you the link to NASA world wind, it has up to date satellite pics and weather.

Many of the newscasts on TV use google earth.

Download either or both, if you dont like them you can remove them.

A high speed connection isn't required for google earth but it sure does help.

It's somewhat CPU intensive but the memory usage can be set.

when i click the link i get the above picture. i circled in red the "little yellow man" and I also circled where it says "street view." not every city and road will have a little yellow man though. that only shows you a static street view of that road from some earlier time. hope that helps.
