i found this gossip piece on yahoo:

"The View's" Elisabeth Hasselbeck is reportedly "really upset" about the recent political discussions (i.e. the upcoming presidential election) that have been taking place on her daytime gab fest. As the lone Republican on the talk panel -- not to mention the youngest -- she just can't seem to win against her loud, liberal counterparts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg.

this poses the question... would the view be as fun to watch if hasselbeck wasn't on?
 
you need someone with a view different than yours otherwise the dialog is not going to be all that good in my opinion. you need someone to challenge your views (not necessarily to change them, but to make you think harder on what you believe and why).
 
Challenge other views yes, but have the ability to make valid points and not just spout some crap that she read on the internet 30 minutes before the show.

People with her kind of thinking are dangerous and I personally hopes she fades away to never be heard from a again.

She's proven to be the clown which she portrayed on Survivor.
 
I never watch the show, but it's overall a beneficial thing she stays. She continues to perpetuate the "stupid" image of Republicans.

If I were conservative, I'd be more upset that the token conservative was such a poor representation of conservatives more so than the fact that she's outnumbered.

I'm going to a taping of the view next tuesday. A friend got 4 tix.
I'm not a huge fan but I'm pretty excited to check it out, we really hope they have good guests and that Elizabitch acts up!

I hope that Hasselbeck stays, though. It's fun to watch her get spanked by her more educated and enlightened counterparts.
 
I'm fairly certain this story is fake, but if Elisabeth were to leave, I'm certain they would add another conservative to the table, and hopefully it'll be someone who isn't such a blind sheep.
 
Her opinions are really stupid, but it makes the show more interesting. I have been recording it since her fights with Rosie. I saw her on Fox news this weekend, maybe she is heading there. She has been smart enough to kiss a lot of Republican ass. She got invited to White House for a state dinner with the queen. If McCain, wins she may get a political appointment. Heaven help us all!
