I find it disturbing that people think that it's possible to make overarching statements that characterize a very diverse population of well over a billion people. Islam is hardly the monolithic religion/practice/culture that so many people believe it to be.

I think the original nature of the argument here needs to be spelt out a little more to give context as to why someone would want to have Gert Wilders killed, and I mean fuck it I have fantasies about killing that racist piece of shit, hate spewing, dick for brains, cunt many times a day. Theo van Gogh had been travelling round the world showing his films about the evils of Islam and pretty much trying to make religious faith in Islam (he never openly criticized any other religions to my knowledge) illegal here.
The Netherlands, while being very tolerant on many issues, is a pretty hostile place if you are not white. The Dutch might not always openly show it, but its felt and every PoC I know has mentioned how they have felt it more regularly here than anywhere else they have lived. I am not really sure what is driving that, but it leaves people to become very defensive about who they are, and what they stand for. If Malcolm X was around today I would have a hard time believing that he would be demanding for black separatism again! Its just a case that currently we live in a world were wars have been going on across the Islamic world for years with western help, and those that live in the west face racism on a fairly high level in day to day life. It does not take much at that point to switch over to some more extreme strands of belief.

These are indeed true arguments and, as I have said before, Europe is a hotbed for racism, even if most people will hypocritically deny it.

However, it is undeniable that many people come to Europe with a rather pernicious agenda. The question still stands - why do Hindu and Oriental people manage to adapt fairly well (and God knows that they are the object of extreme discrimination just as much as any other minorities), but Muslims can't?

In an interesting twist, in the "Gay Muslims" documentary on Channel 4, one British gay man of Pakistani ancestry asked a very valid question about his own parents, and the members of the wider Muslim community - if these people are not happy here, why don't they leave?

It is probably just numbers, there are nearly two million more Muslims in the UK than Hindus. Same with "oriental" who make up less than 1% of the UK population - although in terms of portray in the UK, I would say people view people from East and South East Asian countries in a pretty dim light. Every Vietnamese character to ever be on TV is always a drug dealer! But again, its a smaller population, so less comes through.
Also when it comes to people from these backgrounds, its been a bit longer since we in the west have bombed and killed them in their home countries (or at least neighboring nations).

It was 1am I was tired and I don't need to offer proof that's easily google-able. Its well known that US troops were placed in Saudi Arabia - which houses Mecca and Medina - after the gulf war. If you are so worried about it then do your own research. You will literally find the information everywhere as it was seen as one of the motivations for 9/11

I don't know all the answers to it and can't understand how Pakistanis (main Muslim block in UK) can run wild in London, while they semi-assimilate here with minor incidents of extremist affiliations and terror plots.

Well again, every Muslim I have known is fully assimilated into UK daily life and gets by fine. Again I just think its numbers and population density. In the UK we have 100,000 more Muslims than the UK (from what I learnt on wikipedia) and we live in a much smaller area. It is quite easy for crazy shit to kick off, especially when you consider how poor quality of life has got for most people in the UK over the past few years (with no sign of abating) and when everyone everyone lives in small areas of towns, thus allowing for the spread of ideas to happen quickly at temples and shit. Still its so low and over reported that its insane. We still have killings going on in the British occupation of Ireland all the time, and yet we don't hear about how Catholicism wants to destroy the UK.
