Iran has accused Israel of working with an Iranian terrorist group to assassinate the country's nuclear scientists. Experts say that a possible partnership between Israel and the MEK, also known as the People's Mujahideen, is not a surprising match. CNN's Chris Lawrence reports.

Personally I think we should be doing more then this to stop Iran from having nuclear weapons. Iran is a primitive, sexist, homophobic theocracy that is brutal and barbaric to all those that disbelieve. However I highly doubt that Israel would side with a terrorist organization.

That's the latest news. I'm not surprised. Every country has its share of homegrown terrorists.

I've heard that even bombing nuclear facilities in Iran would only slow the progress. To stop them from starting again would require a full invasion and occupation of the country.

Any attack on Iran would result in a mess. They'd fire missiles at Israel, plus Saudi Arabia's oil fields and temporarily block the straits of Hormuz, at least until the U.S. could clean up the mess. They could also bomb our soldiers in Afghanistan.

I'm hoping they're just rattling their swords and not really on a suicidal mission to continue enriching Uranium to 20% which is the red line for Israel to attack.

If not, it's a short path from that point to weapons grade material.

Satellite images show Iran is also burying its nuclear material/facilities beneath a mountain of earth.
Estimates are that by early summer even bunker-busting bombs couldn't get to it.

Iran doesn't have the capacity to bomb our soldiers in Afghanistan. You have a major carrier fleet stationed in the Gulf with around 20 ships... so that's enough deterrence.

I, however, don't think we are going to attack them. Rather Iran is heading much in the same direction as Syria. There is major infighting in the regime... some want to reform the country, and the others are sticking to the hardliners. .

I hope this is the outcome. However, I don't believe in a world of absolutes.

All our military advantages didn't stop Iraq from launching SCUD missiles into Tel Aviv in the first Gulf War.

If Iran gets a nuclear weapon, and its leadership is so unstable, what's to keep the weapon out of the hands of terrorists?

You obviously never even saw the video.

The story covers the different people who suspect that this might be the case and why, including the fact that many Iranian dissidents, of which MEK is considered to be among that number, do not want Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon and will do whatever it takes to stop them from doing so, including assisting Israel in its targeted attacks on key people involved with the project.

The story ends with major people within the US government and even former Mayor Giuliani fighting very hard to get MEK taken off of the US terrorist list. Why would these people put themselves, their credibility and their political capital on the line for this group unless they knew this was a group they could work with, and perhaps already have?

There are all sorts of problems and cracks emerging in Iran's political system. And hopefully the upcoming elections there exposes more cracks.

I have a hard time trusting the objectivity of a website whose only advertisers are the Jewish Federation of San Diego County and websites for tours to Israel and travel insurance for travel to Israel on a website that claims to serve the Iranian American community. It just sounds a little bogus to me. Just sayin....

I trust Mossad 100% -- to do their job.

I just don't trust them to decide what that job should be, or to choose respectful means to carry it out.


On the side... I'm wondering again if an article I read years back was true, that a spy caught by the U.S. was actually caught by the Mossad, specifically by an agent spying on the U.S. Wouldn't surprise me.

It saddens me that some of you seem to believe that a) Israel as an entity is a friend of gays and b) that this is your one and only factor in determining the justness of its actions.
