I always sit next to this guy on the bus. We're both in our twenties. Every time he would sit next to me, I would smell his muskiness mixed with some cologne after a long day of work. I like the smell; it actually turns me on.

We've talked before but just casually. I know from his demeanor he's gay but we're both straight-acting. Maybe he's not, who knows.

Anyway, is it creepy to say "Hey, what's your cologne?" or something of that nature when we're not really that close? I just want to ask to make conversation.

"What is that inTOXicating fragrance you're wearing?"

Creepy? Not at all. I am always asking guys, gay and straight, what cologne or lotion they wear. And they appreciate the attention.

"Hey, your cologne smells nice. Could I get the name so I could try it?"

If he responds with, "I'd rather not. Its hard enough to keep my hands off you as it is here on the bus."

You shoot back with, "Well come on over to my place and we can have all the privacy you want."

If he counters that he was just joking, so can you.

Not creepy at all. I get asked from time to time what cologne I'm wearing. I just wish it was from hot guys.

If you think this guy is 'family' then this might be the perfect way to break the ice and see where it leads. Good luck! :D

People wear cologne so other people will smell it. I would love if someone asked me. And I have asked other people--even the first time meeting them. Maybe I'm weird, but I don't care. I wouldn't start off saying I love how it mixes with your musk, but other than that, I think it's a safe question.

I'm debating whether it would be appropriately flirtatious to then say as you get off the bus, "Smell ya later." Probably not if you wanna play it cool.

I think that it's very cool to talk with other guys about their cologne. Be careful how you use the word "smell"! When you spend $50 - $70 bottle for cologne, it's nice if somone other than yoursel notices and enjoys it.

The fireworks at Sea World are going off right now.

I've loved quality cologne since I was in my 20s. It's one
of life's simple pleasures. I like when guys ask me about my cologne. I'll gladly chat with anyone about cologne anywhere, anytime.

not creepy at all. just ask him what kind of cologne he wears.

not creepy at all. it is a compliment actually. go for it.

Last week at the gay club I was asked, "You smell great, what are you wearing?" And I proceeded to tell them.

Unfortunately it was the female bartender. :(

No as long as you don't ask in a "creepy" sort of way. I have been asked by a str8 barber what my cologne was and didn't think anything of it. Consider it a compliment just as if someone liked your shirt ect.

The other day a friend asked me what cologne I wear, wasn't creepy at all. If I smell good I'm not going to find it creepy if someone asks what I wear.

Yeah. I think only Nelson Muntz could pull that off.

No its not creepy if you don't make it creepy. I get compliments all the freakin time from str8 guys about how good I smell. Especially when playing contact sports. Girls love it too. The only time I felt uncomfortable was when I would go to this food stand and this waitress would always compliment on how good I smelt. She started calling me Mr. Smellgood. She would get her boss and other ppl anytime I would go in to come smell me. I stop going there because i didn't wanna get smelt anymore lol. I really miss those cheesesteaks :(

holy cow man.. ask him what is cologne is.

I expect he'd love to know that someone loves that scent.
Ask him.. tell him that he always smells so fine..
He'd love to hear that.

Now, no need to say right away that it turns you on... haha.. but I expect you know that..
But yeah, ask him what it is..

I always did.
And nope, it's not creepy.. just a nice thing to acknowldege.

I don't think it's creepy provided there is no accompanying inflection in your voice or demeanor, prolonged sniffing of him, lip-licking, self-touching or any variation or combination of the mentioned acts which would make the simple query creepy.

I've always been under the impression that a quick, "Hey, do you mind if I ask what cologne you're wearing?" is not within the bounds of being creepy.

I think the only way to make it creepy is if you immediately press your nose against his neck, take a deep inhale as you travel from the base of his neck to his ear, and then ask what cologne he is wearing...

That would be creepy.
