Mind you I'm on like Windows 1985, but anyway I use chrome and I did an update two weeks ago, another one last week and now it's telling me there's ANOTHER update, is this normal?

It is now. It hijacks both of my computers all the time...and it pisses me off.

That's right. The updates are very frequent. However, one thing I do, which helps to place me in the driving seat, so to speak, is to use Chrome Components. That's where you type into the address bar chrome://components, and you then use the Enter key. The result is a list of all the updates on one page, and you are able to update all those which need updating. It only takes a couple of minutes, and doing it in your own time makes it so much easier. I certainly find it makes life more easier for myself.
I hope this might be of some help.
