Is it okay to be racist against white people?

Again we are stuck thinking the United States and its peculiar history = the whole world.

If you need an example of systemic racism against white people before believing that it is just as shitty and stupid, and equal to, racism against any other kind of person, Mr. Robert Mugabe has delivered.

This is beyond boringly stupid to even explain.

Poor ole straight white males--the most "put upon" group (poor things)--had their clocks cleaned recently. Hee hee.

And to answer that question, yeah they are. Affirmative Action, institutionalized racism to the benefit of other groups, at the expense of another.

actually, affirmative action was MADE to counter and fix institutional racism as well as other issues where historically disadvantaged groups like women for example were being discriminated at in public and private institutions such as schools and government offices. affirmative action wouldn't be in place if folks weren't discriminating. it basically keeps people in check.

sounds like you might be suffering from entitlement issues. if folks weren't letting their prejudice get in the way of things where they were discriminating and were giving everybody a fair shot across the board instead of only a certain group of people, affirmative action wouldn't be needed.

No not really.

So to fight against people being discriminated because of their race is to discriminate against race? No sorry, this is principally flawed.

No not really.

you say this BUT then you say this.

:rotflmao:

do you know what discrimination means? affirmative action prevents discrimination of groups that are known to be discriminated against by enforcing quotas. that is NOT discrimination. it's simple. it's a preventive measure. the fact that you see this as discrimination in itself screams entitlement issues.

my question to you is would you be bitching about affirmative action if it benefitted someone like yourself. face it, if you don't like affirmative action, you should blame all the idiots outthere busy discriminating. i wonder if you would have a problem with affirmative action if the military started using it to gay people were being discriminated against from being enlisted into army at recruitment centers.

No, hiring the most qualified person for the job prevents discrimination against groups known to be discriminated against.

Giving someone a job because of a quota just opens them up to ridicule. Even the appearance of giving someone a job because of a quota makes others question the genuine talent the person might actually have.

And again we come back to this idea of entitlement. If I'm the cleverest, hardest-working, best-educated, most-qualified person for the job, I'm entitled to it. That's something everyone should be able to say to himself in the morning. It's not a "privilege." Its what equality means.

 your FIRST statement has racial overtones to it. i hope you realize that.

what you FAIL to realize is that there are people in disadvantaged groups that are KNOWN to be discriminated against that may happen to be the most qualified persons for a job and still get passed over because their gender, skin color, ethnicity, sexual orientation and etc isn't seen as being right. job discrimination actually is VERY common in america. affirmative action has been used to counter it BUT it still happens. you act as if those 5 spots out of 100 chairs are actually supposed to be something to get upset over. that's what's funny when i hear people crying about affirmative action. basically a company can discriminate all they want to 95 times over giving the position to whoever they think deserves it without proper qualifications as long as they give those 5 chairs to a woman, a black person, an asian, an indian, or whoever as long as it's someone in a group known to be discriminated against. they'll probably look for the best 5 people while at the same time, looking for 95 people that don't have the same qualifications as the 5. you see where i'm getting at.

there was actually recently a case settled in federal court where the fire department of new york was found guilty of job discrimination. they actually purposely turned down a good portion of black appliciants that did very well on the civil service exams saying that they failed the test because they didn't want them to be firefighters.

Are you familiar with what discrimination means? The definition doesn't change based on skin colour it's being applied.

As for AA for getting gays into the military, it's totally unnecessary and artificial. Why should the gay guy be chosen over the straight guy? Because gays were discriminated against from joining? Okay, but did the straight applicant do anything? Why should he be denied entry for actions he did not partake in. Really just remove "no gays allowed" caveat.

Secondly, if the military hates gays they can go out there and eat a bullet,

i'm very familar with what discrimination means. i'm sure you don't know what it is though.

and i can see you completely failed to understand what i was saying. you REALLY do not know what discrimination means.

how is setting aside 20 spots out of 150 for gay guys discrimination. basically you have a large pool of gay men competing for 20 spots while as 130 can go to straight guys or whatever. that's a lot better than 150 going to straight guys where gay guys are pretty much told that they can't join because they're gay. that's discrimination. it's not like the straight guy is being turned away for being straight. if the military decided to hire in a nondiscriminatory manner military men disregarding their sexuality, affirmative action wouldn't be needed. you don't get it.

Well you can find double standards in pretty much every topic.

I guess some minorities feel like they are allowed to because of the history. Also just the general thinking that it's less wrong to go after the 'big guy'. But honestly behavior like that just keeps up racial tension which keeps people from moving forward which no race gains from.

Personally I think gender and religion have much more conflict these days than race.

The people getting most hate these days are probably Muslims. They have become the Jews of the 21st century.

You can also find plenty of gays who lash out against straight people or even bisexuals. Again a minority which feels like it's okay because of the history.

No I perfectly understand what discrimination means but perhaps you need a refresher

The unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, esp. on the grounds of race, age, or sex.

Or you could just remove the rule preventing gays from enlisting? Given that this is the military, they would need all the able-bodied men they can get. Putting a Quota system down to something as frivolous as sexual orientation seems arbitrary.

it's not like the straight guy is being turned away for being straight.
He will be when they reach their "130 straight guy only" quota"

if the military decided to hire in a nondiscriminatory manner military men disregarding their sexuality, affirmative action wouldn't be needed. you don't get it.

No I get it, but its merely a band-aid and not a cure for the problem.

All quotas based on things like gender, race, religion or sexuality are unfair in my opinion.

It's unfair to the person who gets rejected when he or she is the fittest person but doesn't belong to the right group. In many countries including the Uk the name used for affirmative action is Positive discrimination. In my opinion there is no such thing, how can discrimination be positive?

Aw, Bankside, what have you done?

Now you're going to have to explain who he is, and what he's managed to achieve, and then where Zimbabwe is, and then that Africa is actually not a country.

And then you'll be told that it's irrelevant anyway, because they say it is.

 your FIRST statement has racial overtones to it. i hope you realize that.

what you FAIL to realize...

The only way that statement has "racial overtones" is if you assume I think people of minority ethnic backgrounds are incapable of succeeding on their own. That's your assumption, not mine.

Please, as a Canadian we're still dealing with too many people from a certain country wondering if we have houses and cars and electricity and cities and the Internet. Or "Is that near Toronto?" No. My city in the second-largest country on earth by area is not near Toronto.

So, do you have a house? Near Johannesburg? I understand that's the capital of Africa since Mandela defeated Hitler.

Two things....

first..... It's not Ok to be racist against anyone for any reason. We all know in our core when that line is crossed, and if more people respected that line when they made personal choices and comments online, then a whole bucket of turds would stop dropping in the JUB punch bowl.

Second... Until the Gov't of the US reflects the ethic diversity of the nation, instead of being mostly white male, even though they only comprise 33 percent of the nation, and the prisons are around 90 percent full of nothing but minorities, with little spending on education?

There is racial inequality in this nation as expressed in this real disparity, and until it's fixed, the nation needs to insure the minorities not be dominated by the Tyranny of the Majority via legislative protections.

You're entire post is a series of non sequiturs. The nebulous "White culture", what is it? European/Euro-American Culture? The cuisine, the music, the folklore, the sociocultural values? Why is it horrible that country that has huge European roots, "celebrate" "white culture" everyday? This a non-issue in itself. Perhaps the concern is representation of non-European culture in the main stream.

Then perhaps you should have done so from the get go. Instead we got a Flippant thread title and a facetious opening post.

And to answer that question, yeah they are. Affirmative Action, institutionalized racism to the benefit of other groups, at the expense of another.

No actually there was a lot of shit posting and poor info,

I care, go back to posting real housewives gifs unless you have something intelligent to contribute.

I'm hostile towards stupid ideas, deal with it.

You still have yet to show me where White people in America have been negatively effected because of their race.

In fact none of you have.

Now let me tell you what you have done: You have personally attacked my posting habits (What's new?) and further showed your disdain for the subject but you are STILL HERE.

You and the 3 or 4 other pressed, rude, and clearly prejudice posters in this thread haven't even TOUCHED on it.

So lets do this: I'm going to keep running this shit (Effortlessly without a flaw, normal, tbqh), I'm going to keep getting you all bent out of shape and you will take this block and you will L-O-V-E it.

See you in my next thread sis, or technically I guess I won't.

It is astonishing how pressed this thread has gotten to take shit back to Africa.

Bye.

I think it's unfair to be anything less than respectful and decent with anyone. However, is the struggle the same for everyone in America?

You guys enjoy chewing on shit don't you?

You enjoy flocking to it? Welcome, pull up a chair.

I happen to do it, but the question itself has an obvious answer. Therefore, the discussion is a waste of time and resources.

"Is it okay to be racist against white people?" Wait... Is it? Let's see... It is wrong to be racist against black people. It is wrong to be racist against the Jews. It is wrong to be racist against Asians. Hmmm.... It surely means that being racist towards whites is completely okay. Logical isn't it?

Racism is discussed a million times over. It is wrong. Your hatred towards any racial group can't be justified. Deal with it.
