I happen to do it, but the question itself has an obvious answer. Therefore, the discussion is a waste of time and resources.

"Is it okay to be racist against white people?" Wait... Is it? Let's see... It is wrong to be racist against black people. It is wrong to be racist against the Jews. It is wrong to be racist against Asians. Hmmm.... It surely means that being racist towards whites is completely okay. Logical isn't it?

Racism is discussed a million times over. It is wrong. Your hatred towards any racial group can't be justified. Deal with it.

Explain this comment please, or I will do it for you in a much less flattering light than you can do for yourself.

Two things....

first..... It's not Ok to be racist against anyone for any reason. We all know in our core when that line is crossed, and if more people respected that line when they made personal choices and comments online, then a whole bucket of turds would stop dropping in the JUB punch bowl.

Second... Until the Gov't of the US reflects the ethic diversity of the nation, instead of being mostly white male, even though they only comprise 33 percent of the nation, and the prisons are around 90 percent full of nothing but minorities, with little spending on education?

There is racial inequality in this nation as expressed in this real disparity, and until it's fixed, the nation needs to insure the minorities not be dominated by the Tyranny of the Majority via legislative protections.

The approach of affirmative action, and you can see it in the condescending attitudes in this thread with the "white tears" bullshit, is basically to say "Ha ha whitey. Now you're the one disadvantaged in seeking this job because this time it's reserved for me. How do you like it now?"

Well, we don't like it. Or at least we shouldn't if we were thinking this through. It would be like dealing with the minority overrepresentation in jail by randomly sending white people to jail until it balances out. All most people want is a fair shot at any given opportunity. It is the same for people of any colour. Affirmative action is a ham-fisted approach to solving a real problem, with side effects that no reasonable person should be willing to put up with.

What's worse is that it creates the reasonable suspicion that the person was less qualified than someone else, but only got the job because of colour or gender, etc. Even if that was actually the best blow-them-out-of-the-water candidate, who could have earned a position without a quota. It defeats equality rather than tames it.

Bottom line, the "new boys network" is not the answer to the "old boys network." I've worked for, worked with, been hired by, and hired people of a whole bunch of ethnicities and genders, and I didn't need a program to make it happen. It was based on talent, not the idea that it was "somebody's turn." No old white guy ever did anything for me, and it is ridiculous to hear that I should turn my back on an opportunity because someone else assumes I have "privilege."

No but we are talking about apples and oranges.

In Southern states, where convicted felons are often not allowed to vote, racial inequity occurs in the way the nation makes decisions down there. Now we have Prisons for profit as well, cashing in on america overpopulating its prisons, and it's not helping crime, the budget, or racial equity in any way.

These are two examples I cherry picked to show that there is good evidence for why this unclassified government report on extremism and domestic terrorism focuses on white extremists...

No need to apologize, the thread title was simply my way of sparking interest to lead into my major question/discussion.





I was sitting down one day, like the anology stated on the first page, thinking about gay "pride" parades and straight "pride" parades. Gay pride is celebrated because this country (Or rather world) does not celebrate gay culture in the scale that it does straight culture. That's my answer, at least, that I give to straight people. They don't need a pride day they have tax reliefs for marrying people they are attracted to, tv shows, advertisements, and movies that are relateable to them.




Now, is it possible to be racist against those who are in power? Sure, you can not open the door for white women, you could be meanies to your white colleagues and say really douchey things about your white boss.


Is that racism scaled equally with as BostonPirate is speaking of in the south? Or any of the trials and trivialization that any minority face here?





Here is what this thread is telling me: If you are white, you can face racism by the driver next to you at the stop sign and it is just as fucked up as that man getting hauled off to prison for bogus charges that has dark skin.

Or you could just remove the rule preventing gays from enlisting? Given that this is the military, they would need all the able-bodied men they can get. Putting a Quota system down to something as frivolous as sexual orientation seems arbitrary.

exactly. what it sounds like is you have some people in here that basically think it's a white man's world and that everybody who isn't a white man should step aside and let white men own everything. it's as if these guys think because they're white, they have first dibs. they can't even realize that the reason why SHIT is the way it is today is because of the mentality of many of the white people generations back where they had the same mentality and went about it through violence, intimidation, abuse, and the whole nine. if you weren't a white man in america, you were fucked. you think folks would get the idea that simple things like affirmative action is only put in place to help fix the effects of the wrongs of the past that are still being felt today. but naw, they see it as threatening as if it's going to take away what they've had. there's a recent study that is now showing the damaging effect that the whole white supremacy ideology has on young white men especially NOW with the economy. it's not only affecting nonwhites anymore.
