i was wondering, since i'm too cheap for a dildo if there's something i can fuck myself with that isn't my fingers but is sanitary? i'd like something that's decent length (6+ inches). i'm talking like household items here. i wanted to use a spatula handle but wasn't sure.
 
I fuck myself with a garden hose head. Of course it's clean (and brand new straight out of the pack). I wash it up with soap first and maybe soak it in Dettol.

I also roll a condom over it with lots of lube.

You wouldn't want to use the one in your garden right now. There could be dirt on it, insects could have crawled over it etc.

That's true, but it doesn't mean your anus is a free-for-all. The thing abotu penises is that they're generally blunt objects and relatively wide.

Placing thin objects, objects with slight angles, or with sharp corners in your rectum is a bad idea because they can catch, stab, or hook onto the membranes in the rectum, tearing them and what not. that can lead to anal fissures, hemmerroids etc.

If you want to put something in your ass like a dildo, try something that's generally blunt with no sharp or angled ends or points, and at least as thick as a plundger handle. And put a condom over it for sanitary reasons not only for the object's further use outside of being a sex toy and for the inside of your body.
 
You can purchase a dildo for the price of a few spatulas, which you'll probably have to buy if you keep sticking them up your ass. Really, you can get one for under $20.

As Luminum said blunt objects are the way to go. I once fucked myself with a frozen ice stick in the shape of a condom. I didn't melt away the little tip at the end. When I was pounding myself with the thing, the condom tip melted into a sharp edge and I cut my anal lining. I didn't even realise I'd cut myself until after I was done with the fucking and pulled the ice out. Blood ran down my legs and it was a few days before the bleeding completely stopped.
