I have been absent for about a month and during the last few days have been quietly catching up.

What a surprise! Amongst all the habitual threads through which I can rapidly skip and gain no more than a few laughs I find a good number of threads exhibiting real thought and opinion.

The role of homosexuals in society, the way to insert homosexuality into society, the origins of homosexuality, the appearance of homosexuality in current society, just to name a few. All subjects treated in a typical JUB fashion; intellectual thought, strong opinions, some faceatious comments, and the frequent lapsing into insults.

Threads that I have enjoyed reading, have opened my eyes on the beliefs and opinions of my fellow man.

So let's stop criticising JUB as in my opinion it is doing better than ever.

If these threads are important, then why aren't the people who are saying that these threads shouldn't be bumped away not replying to these threads? I'm sorry, I see several threads, let's say by Croynan for instance, he posts plenty of threads of recent events and the sorts, but not any one that I have heard every complain about the important threads being bumped away have answered his threads. Why is that?

I'm talking about important threads like "I got married" "My dog died" "My house got burned down" "I'm a gay father" important stuff like that. Yeah I know people can reply in them to bump it up, but with so many of these "Fun" threads being posted it bumps all the good important threads down to 2nd page. It's just what I see.

I hear what you're saying Brandon and believe me I think the threads you mentioned are important, Pegasus' trials come immediately to mind. But to be honest, whenever a few members (and lets' face it, some Mods) take issue with those who are here to have fun... to me it feels as if they hold us at fault for the general apathy the membership seems to have. Think about it, they are blaming us for something we cannot control and that is the participation (or lack thereof) of the general membership.

I lurked here for about two months before I started posting. I found the sight interesting, thought provoking and fun. If I was just joining now, I would still be lurking. All I every see now is arguments, hi-jacking and complaining. I wouldn't find anything to post in.
