I remember seeing right wing hate literature soon after Bill Clinton's inauguration claiming that Hillary was a lesbian. Hillary Clinton was a smart, successful, accomplished, professional women and in the backward heads of the right wing faithful that made her vulnerable to such charges.

It's a whispering campaign, there is no evidence, no indication and no reason to believe she is a lesbian and plenty of indications to the contrary.

Gays, of all people, should understand how scurrilous rumours like this are - all professional women are not lesbians; this is 2007, isn't it?

Chance, here's the thing. If, indeed, these three are both queer and vote with an anti-gay agenda, they need to be busted wide the hell open. They are damaging our continued campaign for equality and being wholly disingenuous in the process. They are lying daily to maintain a privileged position in our society (the senate status for one, the married state for another) they would actively seek to deny their gay brothers and sisters. It is not rude to want to expose that hypocrisy. It is ignorant to ignore it or wish it away.

I'm not militant enough to say that everyone should be outed. I do, however, draw the line at those people who are actively campaigning against our cause while indulging in dick on the down low. Those people should be exposed as loudly and sensationally as possible to discourage others from living the same lie.

I must admit, I do find the prospects of a gay Mitch McConnell interesting, if not ironic. LOL

Well, we have at least 2 more in the general Assembly - both dems - one in the closet, one out and proud. And I can personally confirm that one person on one of the gubanatorial tickets is gay. Let's just say he's been in the clubs over the years and enjoys many of the things we enjoy.

I'd like to think not, we certainly don't need another self-loathing Republican in our ranks. If he wants to join, make him fill out an application and wait his turn like everybody else.

But, as chairman of the membership committee, I'd have to say up front ... his chances aren't very good. He's a little long in the tooth and he's ugly.

Looking back at Kentucky during the days of McConnell's youth, there really was no organized gay community. There was no internet to use to meet people. You grew up with the expectation from others that you would marry a woman and go to church on Sunday. It was much the same for me back in Mississippi in the 70's and '80's.
