The screen freezes, blinks and turns on and off often. :(

or is it software related?
 
Very likely the monitor if you can move your mouse and all that but the monitor is fucking up then yes it might be the monitor. If your computer freezes like you can't move the hand then it might be with the computer, when my power supply was going out it would freeze and shit or give me blue screen.

I had a friend whose video card went out and the color would change on his screen and it would give him weird graphic glitches.
 
If it freezes yet still shows you the screen, as in whatever it is that you was looking at yet it can't move, it might be the graphics card or something hardware related.

What graphics card do you have by the way? I know that I had a GeForce 9800 GX2 and it went bad...so I got another one JUST LIKE IT and it too went bad, in the same exact way. I ran across another person online with the SAME exact graphic card with the same issues and concluded, there was a flaw with the whole model of graphic cards.

It freezes and can't move the mouse.
The screen blinks to black and on again and the firefox browser freezes

Yes, it freezes and can't move mouse.
Not sure how to look up what type of graphic card i have.
 
Here is a LIST of programs that can tell you everything about your computer. Plus how old is this computer? Was it used BEFORE you got it or did you buy it new? What Operating System is installed on it?
 
Updated the graphic card driver but still freezes, can't move mouse, and blinks

I'll take to the shop tomorrow.
Its about 4 years old ?? can't remember
 
The new graphic card works. :)
So it was graphic card problems.
