Is there a device or program that captures video frames on my tv, played from a DVR? I would think with all the amazing technology out there, there would have to be something. I have a PS3 too, is there a program that would do it from my PS3?

Thanks

Yeah don't use a camera that is TACKY. If you want ultra crisp quality you're better off getting an HDMI capture card which requires a really powerful computer. About three years ago I bought a Dazzle DVD Recorder, at the time that was the best quality you could get, then they released the $300+ HDMI capture card.

But I'm pretty happy with my Dazzle DVD Recorder if you are wanting to upload videos from PS3 to YouTube I would go with it, its pretty cheap around $50 bucks but it doesn't do HDMI it does A/V cable.

Quality is not that great if you are picky about the type of quality it does. Here is a video I did last year of me playing SR2 on PS3.

Best to do research if you really want to know about capture cards, they do exist but if you want top of the line you will have to pay more money for it.

These things appear to be compatible only with Windows machines, and not Macs. I have a MAC. I'll keep looking.

They released a Mac version of that product but it seems to be non-existent. Perhaps there were a lot of bugs with the Mac version of Dazzle DVD Recorder. It was a white version of the product and it was able to work on Mac laptops.

Never mind I found it on Amazon but its a bit more money than the one on PC. Also read the reviews its REALLY BAD.

Why do Mac owners never mention "I have a Mac"?

I uploaded a video for a guy that tok 30 minutes to upload. I sent him the link. eh writes back. It doesnt work. I have a Mac.
I was pissed.

If you hadnt had Mac, I would be pissed right now. So Im glad you have Mac ;-)

FYI:
There is a bit of a learning curve, I would say.

I had to buy 20' rca cable to go from my computer to my television and the female/female coupler you see in the video.

You can take screen captures from 640 by 400 up t0 1240 to 1040 pixels.

Mac version is $99

The one on Amazon was like $87. But I see the negative reviews people are having about the audio being out of sync.

Did I mention that I always have issues with Dazzle not working correctly on Vista? Though using Studio 12 helps but if I wanted to use a different program that's where I ran into problems.

When I had Windows XP I was able to use Windows Movie Maker to capture video. Ever since the upgrade it's been a pain in the ass to use different programs.
