Why live it, its just going to end. Leaving religion out of it why is suicide bad? People say it gets better, but what if it doesn’t? Why not end it?
 
I dunno. You tell me. You think it would be better if you killed yourself?
 
Lack of pain and pleasure would equal neutrality, so yes, I do think it would be better if I killed myself. That’s not what this thread is about though.
 
It's up to each of us to figure out the point of our life. Philosophers and artists have grappled with that question since the begining of time. We do know that feelings come and go and that some of us struggle with various addictions and/or mental problems that muddle our thinking. So the issue would boil down to acceptance of our situation and a plan of action or inaction while we are here.

People always seem to gravitate towards something which gives meaning to life, eg religion, personally I think we have to give meaning to our own lives. There is no one way to do things, no one size fits all meaning, no meaning which is constant and unchanging. Sorry, but as to the meaning of your life, I can't help you.

Why live it if it's just going to end? turn it around, why not live it if its just going to end. If the end is inevitable there's no need to rush it. The same reasoning applies to the pain someone may feel, it too will end, so why not live for the good times you would otherwise miss?

I personally think suicide is not a good choice because of the chances, however fleeting they may be, of happiness that you give up, the unknown, by prematurely ending your life. That and I would feel terribly guilty contemplating it for the effect it would have on other people, my family, my friends, even the random people who would have to come and deal with the end result.

As to people who say it gets better, load of bollocks. Things don't just happen my friend, you have to get out there and make it better, happiness doesnt come knocking, sure there will be hard times, whoever said their wouldn't, yours may be harder than others, no one said life was fair, but think of the millions who have had it worse off than you, how they could find some happiness in the little they had to be happy about, and remember alot of it is all in your mindset.

You can't be disappointed with your life, and everything unless

- You are sick to death
- You are homeless
- Your are starving
- You live in a third world country


Millions of people arr dying everyday because they don't have food, they don't have a roof, they are sick...

so I guess Life doesnt suck that much for "Us"

Life can get better, but it's not constant. Everyone has ups and downs. If you are passionate about something, you shouldn't end it. Life is ultimately what you make of it. But keep in mind, no matter how bad you have it, there are literally millions far worse off than you.
 
Live for today, find things to make you happy....Video games, sex, a boyfriend, becoming the worlds greatest forum poster....whatever it may be, suicide is pointless...if you have pain tough it out...suicide is for the weak and if your weak then you should find a way to become strong.................or become a sub, then you can live your life to getting and making your Master or Mistress happy :).....


All jokes aside, Don't kill yourself....................and you never know what happens if tommorrow you find out the meaning of all life......

P.S. The meaning of all life is 42....
 
Thynight, I actually agree with you. What's the point? But I guess as long as you're here you should be having fun and not miserable... if I have to be alive I might as well be enjoying it... if I'm going to live and be miserable all the time, I'd rather die.
 
Might as well make it good if you have to be alive. Make due with the circumstances. If life is always miserable no point in living it, in my personal opinion.
 
many people have it worse than you..specious argument, i'm not many people. i'm just me.

life has its' up and its' down moments so if it's bad now, it will get better...specious comment and doesn't answer the question.

most other responses run in the same vein, and committing suicide only hurts those who love you and that you love...OH, well then

look at it this way...lifes' purpose is to love and make the people happy that you love and to piss off the ones that don't love or make you happy.

convexley, your suicide will hurt the ones that love you and please the ones that don't.

live long and prosper...revenge is a meal best served while you are still around to savor it (plz note, this is half sarcastic...at least half):rolleyes:

Because it's the cowards way out.

Everyone has times where life is shit but they will pass. Sometimes they will take a long time, but they WILL pass. If you stay negative though, it will be rough. I don't know what your issue is but you definitely seem like you need some support, friends and someone to talk to.

What do you enjoy?

Have you experience (fun and feel good experience) everything there is to experience?
If your answer is no, don't go yet, enjoy everything first.
 
many times the answer is - there is NO answer. nobody knows. and the final point destination of all life IS death. while here, why not try to enjoy it? and there can be limits to what one can stand or should have to stand

I still think about killing myself. But life exists for a reason. Something created everything and everyone for a reason. Then again i wonder if a superior being is just using us in a little experiment and sees us the way we see little ants.
