  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Is there anything you buy when feeling down?

Greggs sausage rolls, or steak bakes, or cheese and onion pasties.

It never works for me.

When I'm down, I actually turn to favourite books from the past, like anything by Jane Austen....even if I don't finish the book again...it helps lift me out of malaise.

If I'm feeling a little anxious as well as low in spirit, I turn to pre-19th century history. It works like a charm.

a warm bath works for me....everytime.

Greggs sausage rolls, or steak bakes, or cheese and onion pasties.

I get the comfort food thing too...but it is usually something incredibly simple that I want to make and not from the store. Like scrambled eggs and toast, or a grilled cheese sandwich...

I try to block extra comfort eating though, because I then end up feeling bummed about the extra amount of time I'm having to exercise to undo the damage.

Spicy Chinese Cuisine (NEVER from a buffet..it has to be GOOD Chinese). A Chinese Buffet would depress me more.....

Last time I felt down I was in the market for a new comforter.

For me books, magazines, or junk food for some reason lol, and sadly I got a huge book collection.

When I feel down I try not to make it worse by throwing yet more money away.

basically.

would rather go to sleep, get my head clear and like to stay away from others who obviously don't know or understand what the hell i'm going through where they can and usually do btw make me feel even worse. it's horrible being down and around other people where i'm trying to hide how i feel on the inside because there's really no one that i feel comfortable telling my shit to even those that "claim" that they do. they don't get it even the professionals. they just make me paranoid wondering if they know something is wrong. clearly am not in my right mind to begin with. feeling quite down right now and yesterday.

I'd rather talk to/meet a close friend or just go out to the nearest caffee and buy a cup of favorite coffee to feel better or go to sleep and wake up smiling again. :) Otherwise, it is pretty hard for met to get sad or feel low (a hopeless optimist here :D).
