I haven't had sex with anyone for over a few month ...

but this has got me worried. Is this anything ?

symptoms: first I've had a somewhat burny-itchy like sensation ... and desire to scratch it for a couple of days. Then I got this redness and swelling. This lasted for 3-4 more days now. And now I'm noticing more bumps showing up.

Diagnosis ? If you think it's something specific, how sure are you ? i.e. Can it be something else ?

By the time that child reaches adulthood, they will be one of 50% of American’s living with HSV-1. By the time a person reaches the age of 50, they will be one of 80-90% of those who carry HSV-1.

You should remember there is a difference between cold sores and genital herpes. It is possible to transmit HSV-1 (cold sores) to genitals. And I think the over way around.

But remember a large percent of people have HSV-1. (see above) This link might help. I found that by entering HSV-1 in the search, there was more info.

yep, thanks, did exactly as you've said. Got Abreva and using it.

Pharmacist confirmed that it is what it is -- cold sore.

cold sores ARE herpes though.. i don't see why Herpes 1 is considered an STD anymore.

That looks suspiciously like a cold sore (which is herpes).

I usually get them 1-2 times a year.... since i was about 9. Abreva work everytime!
