This is kind of embarrassing but...lately I've been having trouble with a spot...up my butt.I'm not sure if it's my prostate, but it does seem to be in that general area. The problem specifically is that there is this spot up there that I've been able to feel lately. It's not a bad feeling,on the contrary, sometimes it can feel really good.I've actually found out that if I clench my muscles down there a certain way it can stimulate that spot and make an orgasm more enjoyable. On the other end of that spectrum however, sometimes it begins to...ache?I hesitate to say ache because it's not a painful or hurting sensation. It's just..sometimes the spot seems to have this dull, throbbing sensation and it drives me mad!It doesn't hurt,or put me in any discomfort,it just seems to remind me that it's there. However, sex does seem to make the throbbing feel better, which is why I initially began to think it was a prostate problem. Then I began to realize that the feelings I get from prostate stimulation and from this 'new spot' don't quite feel the same.

I'm posting this here because I genuinely don't know if this is a problem or not.I hesitate to call it a prostate problem especially, because the feelings it gives me are different when my prostate is being hit.If it isn't my prostate though,it's right in that general area.I tried looking up symptoms of things like a swollen prostate, but the only symptoms for that mentioned online are pain and problems with urination, and I don't have either of those. Can anyone tell me what's going on and if there's a problem?Should I go see a doctor?

Also, when I was looking up symptoms of a swollen prostate, the factor of age was brought up quite a bit.So for the record,I'm 23 years old.

From my perspective unless you are passing blood with your urine there would appear to be no problem with your prostate that requires treatment.

The sensitivity that you are describing might well be the result of your stimulation. And nothing more.

Prostatitis is a prostate related matter that is not subject to age, and needs treatment.

Should this matter continue to cause you worry then I recommend you visit a urologist for examination.

In the meantime avoid stimulating your prostate for at least one month in order to reduce the sensitivity. Should the sensitivity remain constant then visit a urologist.

I was in my 20's when I had prostatitis. It started out as a dull ache that just got worse with an ache in the lower back and the lower part of my abdomen. Never a sharp pain, but a constant, chronic ache. See a doctor; it can be treated. And avoid alcohol; that seems to aggravate the condition. This was years ago, but after being treated I never had any relapse or more symptoms. Good luck. I know how bad it can feel.

Check out the link below. It may give you a clue to your symptoms. If you are concerned about your dull ache, a trip to Dr. would be wise.

Chronic prostatitis without infection causes and symptoms

Chronic prostatitis without infection, also known as chronic pelvic pain syndrome, is a condition where there is recurrent pelvic, testicle, or rectal pain without evidence of bladder infection. There may be difficulties with painful urination or ejaculation, and erectile dysfunction. The cause of chronic prostatitis without infection is not clearly understood.

And by the way, there is no such thing as 'embarrassing' on this website. This is an embarrassing-free zone.

Dreaming of Collars -Get yourself along to your doctor. Then if the situation does not change, whatever his/her investigation,or treatment - return for a second opinion.
I recall years ago having concerns about back ache. The doc, gave me pain killers, when it did not improve, I returned, this time to another doctor. Of course he just carried on with the same diagnosis -stronger painkillers -No better. This occurred again too. Finally one weekend, after 10 weeks of bad pain, an emergency doctor was called
- hence had no prior notes, could only start from scratch.
Hear my symptoms, physically exam me . He checked me properly -decided what was wrong, and my recovery then started. After a full course of special antibiotics the prostate infection was cleared up - I then had a series of tests into every 'cavity' back & front. Rear OK, but the Indian doc, performing on the front -could not read his name tag due to the tears! Fortunately no damage was discovered - however I was off work for eight weeks.
So serious pain, bodily & in my pocket.
Since then, any medical problems I pursue with a vigour which can be alarming to my medical 'advisers.' But my family & self, have been kept in reasonable health every since. Whilst we expect our medical advisers to be experts, its your body -guard it well!

The answer to your question is "Yes, you should see a doctor".

The question about whether it is prostatitis can be answered best by a physical exam and some lab work.

Anything unusual warrants a visit to the doctor.

Hey Dreamofcollars, do you usually bottom? Do you feel this sensation more a day or two after a hard (but perhaps satisfying :P) fuck? When you're peeing, do you tend to feel that you're not quite done? Or perhaps do you feel the urge to go more frequently than usual?

I'm having a problem very similar to yours. In fact its identical. I have a feeling down there, won't call it pain, not even discomfort - its just an annoying feeling that its there. When i press the area (essentially the area between my balls and hole) it feels really really good. So don't quite know what to call it.

I did go to the doctor, but unfortunately, i could not tell him about my sexual history (look at my location). So my doctor seems to think its prostrate inflamation. But i'm not sure about his diagnosis, because he made it without knowing that i get fucked like 3-4 times a week... these days I'm debating whether to start the 15 days antibiotic course he has prescribed to address the supposed inflammation. I guess I should create another thread here and ask Karabulut...

Prostatitis is something that a lot guys have at one time or another.

Sometimes the source is an infection.

Sometimes it is what we call aseptic prostatitis which is inflammation not caused by infection. The prostate has a tendency to get inflamed when sexual activity is irregular. So, if you don't ejaculate on a regular basis or you are suddenly getting laid a lot, the prostate has a little rebellion.

The only way to be sure is to have a urinalysis and a prostate exam (by a doctor, that is).

Getting fucked doesn't really have anything to do with it- it's the sexual activity that is trigger- whether you're gay, straight, top or bottom.

all the more reason you will need to be masterbating if you are not getting laid. (to avoid the long periods of sexual inactivity). sounds funny, but this is all correct. - med professional here :-)
